Does anyone do anything with country specific domains, ie. .es, .it, .de etc

I've been looking at the Spanish mainstream market and there's alot of great one worders out there, I know people here do use the .es stuff because they want spanish lang results, and the .com even if its in Spainsh usually gives you South American sites.

Just wondering if there's any $$ in them..

For the .es you have to live in Spain , but I do so that's o.k.
They're $15, same as the .coms.

There are still a ton of slang / single words available for the spanish market too, but its still dot coms for me personally.

machua.es
micajaleputa.es
penne.es
cabron.es

etc ;)

For the porn stuff I always went .com

But some of the mainstream .es available amaze me, the missus is telling me if they're anygood someone else would have got them already, me I'm still wondering, but fuck it it's only a few hundred $$ to grab 20 good ones and see if it works or not.

I do know the spanish language dot coms are very highly prized .. Good luck to you with the names :)

EMPLEO.COM $70,000 ("jobs" in Spanish)
UNIVERSIDAD.COM $45,000 ("university" in Spanish)
VENTAS.COM $40,000 ("sales" in Spanish)
TELEFONOS.COM $40,000 ("phones" in Spanish)
MENSAJES.COM $30,000 ("messages" in Spanish)
CARTAS.COM $25,000 ("cards/letters" in Spanish)

I'd say that the .coms are the way to go as well. I'd say you're catering to a much smaller portion of the credit card carrying population. I suppose that there's room for more growth in these sectors.

Crazy prices..

Most of those are available as a .es for $15..

I'll add them to my list, hehe.

Are the Spanish name .coms valuable because of the Spanish speaking American market?

7 out of the top 20 Spanish lang sites on alexa are .es.
So looks like people use them.

Yep I agree, but with such a difference in price $70k against $15 just seems odd.
