You guys are safer from sharks in the water than you are in a car. You're even safer in the water than you are on the front lines of Iraq! :)

This is true! I've never been run over by a car while in the water!

You take your risk assesments and run the numbers any way you want. Getting killed by a shark is NOT a way I want to die. I'm perfectly happy with land and fresh water that isn't connected to the seas directly.
(Bull shark recently killed someone in fresh water) :(

That's one big land walking fish, it should make Dantheman's life easier, he just needs to trade in the rods for bats :D
I do like the fact that advertising comes with a disclaimer though:
Offer applies to U.S. and Canadian addresses only. Savings based on annual U.S. newsstand price of $59.40. Canadian price C$33 ($21 U.S.), including GST. Sales tax will be added where applicable. Allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. While all dues support National Geographic's mission of expanding geographic knowledge, 90 percent is designated for the magazine subscription, and no portion should be considered a charitable contribution.

If people wouldn't keep provoking the sharks by dangling their feet in the water they'd be fine.
I saw the report of the first girl after I got home from the beach Sunday with my dogs. All has been okay here on the Gulf, but something is going on up near Pensacola to have that many aggressive sharks that close to shore. Bullsharks are fierce little buggers.
Have there been any good shark horror movies lately?
