This is the 3rd. day of summer here in Austin, Texas and we have not had any
rain in 4 weeks. It's hot and has been hot for the past month.

Already this month we have hit 4 days of three digit temperatures.
It's these kind of days, that make me appriciate those beautiful fall days.

O summer day beside the joyous sea!
O summer day so wonderful and white,
So full of gladness and so full of pain!
Forever and forever shalt thou be
To some the gravestone of a dead delight,
To some the landmark of a new domain.
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Summer Day by the Sea

currently 33 degrees (91.5f) ... feels like 41(105.8) according to Red's calculation

I'm stewing in my own juices

Although having said that... It would be the perfect day to take my pet lizard outside for some sun...

Drake the bearded dragon... not my attatched lizard... frickin' Trev you pervert :yowsa:

I remember when my girlfriend moved into an older apartment in Chicago - no AC! She had her Dad FedEx her a couple of window units the first summer she lived there. We southern girls do NOT like heat :P

Yea mainly just high-rise appartments and newer condos and homes have central a/c. I really like the window units though, they make some high powered ones with remotes these days...if you want to melt an ice cube in here you'd have to put it in the microwave!

I thought you southern gals were used to heat and, worse, humidity.

FFN's hate hot weather even more than southern women.

Yesterday wasn't bad, but today it's going to be around 97 in Philly. And the start of the second heatwave of June. :(

It's been over 90 all this past week here in Winterpeg as well. Then yesterday and today it cooled right off.... it's like 70 here right now.... sunny and beautiful.

But after the rain from a few weeks ago, the mosquitos are getting bad.

Always something.

In Florida you seem to just get used to the heat and humidity. I used the AC more when I lived up North.
