But I had That 70's show on the WB channel while working and right after has come on a show called Beauty and the Geek and it's fucking hilarious. I generally dislike reality shows but I've been laughing pretty hard at this show since it started a few minutes ago. The premise seems to be a perfect set-up for some funny moments. This one guy is the CLASSIC geek and it's hilarious watching him.

Is there any end in sight to "reality" tv?

I wouldn't mind it so much to start having good TV come back. Until then there is Discovery.

However I have to admit some of those shows are so mean and degrading that they are funny.

I would watch something in the vein of a celebrity cull, if it were ever to be made. Where pseudo celebrities and pop stars are paraded around, and the loser of the votes never get to appear on film/tv/radio/newsprint ever again ..

I hate "reality" shows. They are just way too fake. The only so-called reality show I have ever watched (and the show had way too much respect for it's viewers to even call itself one) was "Last Comic Standing". Sure, there were a lot of staged things going on, just like in other "reality" shows, but when it all came down to it, it was 2 comics doing their routines. Best audience reaction won the night, though they all won exposure and were able to showcase their talent. Red and I went to see Tammy Pescatelli and John Heffron about a year and a half ago (front row seats in a sold-out crowd), and had a great time. Tammi kept looking at me, but it was probably because I was wearing a "Porn City" sweatshirt. How do I get an Oprano shirt?

"Reality shows" are to "reality" much in the way that "gfy" is to a "webmaster board".

I love reality shows :) And with TV actors demand $Mil per episode, you can plan on them staying around for a long time.

I don't watch many reality shows, but there are a few. I did love Last Comic Standing and I'm an Apprentice addict, I also got into Project Runway. Though my favorite reality show for years has been the People's Court. Hey, everyone has their guilty pleasures.

For me, it is Star Trek (all of them), South Park, LOST, and certain HBO programs. That's about as close to "reality" as my TV viewing needs to be.

I don't even have cable anymore. I'm not much for watching a lot of TV. I use Netflix to watch movies from time to time and I'm currently working my way through Angel (borrowed a friend's DVD's) so I'm pretty happy with that. Although I do spend way to much time monkeying around online at night. LOL!
