I'm sorry...and forgive the intrusion.....I should have posted this earlier...but, Brad's wife, Melissa, was operated on this morning....

She's in recovery and the prognosis is looking very good.

Even though the procedure is not uncommon, it's still open heart surgery.....

I wanted to let everyone know.

Oh. I left out the funny part.

When he called, he said "When Melissa's out of recovery, she'll be going to ICQ'. Only an adult webmaster could say that!

The surgery lasted 6 hours, and Brad's wife came through it fine... now it's a matter of recovery.... ;-)

She's made it through years of Brad - this should be a breeze! :)

Thanks for the update - give her a hug for me!

Did her giving birth to twins a few years ago damage her heart?

She had a small hole in her heard... genetic.... the birth of the twins, just put additional strain on it, so they decided it was best to repair it

They do things very differently these days than when I worked in hospitals. Not only is she out of intensive care, she's already moving around and is expected to be home by Monday...

Lookin' good and we're all relieved....though Brad is tired..he's elated and is so appreciative of all the good thoughts you've sent his way!

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Although she is still in a tremendous amount of pain, Melissa is progressing well and seems to be exceeding the expectations that the doctors helped us set. The surgery went really well, they were able to repair the whole in her heart and several other issues that they identified. No doubt the next few months will be challenging in every way but her and I are looking forward to the return of her health and the energy. When we met 9 years ago she was so full of life and energetic. The doctors tell us that there will be such a dramatic difference in the coming months in her health, like night and day, that she won't know how she managed through the last few years.

Thank you all so much for thinking about us. It really does mean a lot to me that I have so many teriffic friends that I can count on.

Best Wishes,

Brad
