What do you use to build web pages?

1. Notepad
2. Frontpage
3. Dreamweaver
4. Adobe Go Live
5. Other

I started with Frontpage, but now use Dreamweaver. I think DW is the best web page editing and creating software.

Notepad and Editpad (large pages) :)

I use notepad and HomeSite, depending on my needs at the moment and the complexity of the page I am putting together.

Simple templates I do in NoteTab Pro. Complex pages I do in FrontPage and edit them in NoteTab Pro.

Of course, for site building I use Content God.

TextPad, TextPad, TextPad.

Nothing else even comes vaguely close to the power of TextPad.

I use Front Page (my design skills suck) but mostly the HTML editing portion of Front Page

Building anything in Front Page adds a lot of unnecessary code and has to be taken out anyway

i started with frontpage i read all books and knew how to do all that crazy asp programming and crap then someone showed me dreamweaver

i have not touched front page since then.

1 thing i hate about dreamweaver though it gets dumb slow when working with big code pages i still have not found how to tweak that.

dreamweaver and note pad... used frontpage for a bit till someone showed me the light... actually I was first showed how to build a page with composer and used that for over a yaer... at the time all I needed to do was place an image, write "click here", make them a link, place page on angelfire or tripod...

LOL - in all honesty mate, if you're comfy writing / editing HTML (or anything else for that matter) using a text editor, then TextPad really is the dog's bollocks.

I've tried EditPlus, NoteTab Pro & most of the other reccommended power text editors and they all have one or two, or three annoying limitations.

Easily the best feature is the REGEX search & replace over multiple documents. Once you use it, you start to wonder why you've been wasting so much time over the years.

I'll have to give it a shot :)

I'm still tempted to edit my first post and just put HTML, but I won't :D

TEXT PAD (http://www.textpad.com/)

Is the best text editor on Earth.

It's reliable (notepad fucks up now and then)
It can handle very large files.
It can easily handle multiple files search and replace.
You can quickly change the case of text ... UPPER, lower, Sentence case etc..
It's got a great spell checker.

Sorry. I missed that one. I was going to post, "what's your favorite color?", but decided on this instead. lol

I'm actually pleasantly surprised at the reponse this got.

My favorite features of Dreamweaver are:

1. Find and Replace - has saved me hours and hours of time.
2. Easy style sheet creation.
3. Ability to see code and design view simultaneously.
4. Color coding of the code based on the type of code it is.

Great minds think alike :-))))

(admittedly also fools seldom differ, but I'm demanding a recount on that adage).
