That's too much boat for me to play with. I'd actually have to pay attention while piloting that one.

I like my Sundancer 240. Nice boat, fast, comfortable, not a pain to pilot and it doesn't cost $1500 to fill the gas tanks.

When Jen and I manage to retire we hope to live on a boat. It doesn't have to go anywhere, just has to float :)

I don't think I would want anything over 45 foot for cruising around on, too big and unweildy. For going out and running around, I would like maybe a 20-25 foot with a cuddy cabin. Enough to stay gone for 2 or 3 days on :)

Seems my tub is obsolete but this is next bigger model, looks just like mine.

It's a great boat, sleeping, fishing, skiing, tubing, whatever, it's got game.

Mine's always in the water ready to go. A must IMHO. If it's not raining tomorrow, we're gonna be out and about.

The DOT refunds 17 cents a gallon for gas too if you keep recepts and send the form in which may not sound like alot, but actually it's a few tanks full every year. :)

That's a great boat! We had a 40' Ranger and sold it a few years ago and I've been boat hunting ever since. at 40 it's about 10' too short if you want to have friends visit you and stay on the boat.

You should really test out some boats in the bigger range before you limit yourself on size. I thought that 40 feet or so would be the largest I'd want to ever comfortably try to manage, but a guy I sail with occasionally has a 46 ft boat that's a complete piece of cake to manage on, very well set up for cruising. One person can manage his boat, even docking, with the bow thruster, no problem.
On the other hand the 35 footer I race on is a bitch for two people to handle and it's actually very well laid out for a one design with as many controls as it has.

Well, in reality we will of course have to go with what we can afford.

So far this is what we can get:

I love old boats and was so chuffed to find a picture of my old Bates Starcraft , Lady Valetta , I had to post it again :)
