I'm interested in hearing peoples opinions on domains such as mfootball, mporn, mcommerce, mshopping, etc. Do you think the value of these types of domains is going to rise considerably over the coming years as mobile technology advances and becomes more popular?

At the moment "M-Commerce" is the widely used phrase, so with more support of that term it seems quite possible people will start prefixing domains with 'm' when looking for the mobile version of something. They already seem to be in some cases.

I'm about to pay $4k and $1.5k for a couple of these domains.. bad move or good move?

Newton is the mobile guru around here :)

I however think the prices are high, I've been proved wrong many times before and I hope this is another time I will be as well.

To be honest mate, mporn was ok, mobileporn went recently I believe which I personally, would have preferred. If you can make a brand out of them and you want to pay that much, then its down to you chap, but there are thousands of sms / 3g / mobile / mms / pda names still available that have expired ;) 15 bucks a pop from directnic.com

You know the boom of e-commerce, everything was "e" orientated for a while .. fucking yuppies running around Islington screaming "I am an e-commerce expert" lol I know a lot of people that got burned with that.

Now microsoft has moblogs, moblogging is big as is phlogging .. "phone blogging" .. podcast was thought to be the new thing and its very rapidly dying a death in favour of microcasting.

3g is going to be around for a long time, before 4g comes into fruition in 2012 or thereabouts .. http://www.3g.co.uk/3GWorld.htm / http://www.blogs3g.com

So me personally, I wouldn't pay 4k for anything m"insert name", I like the 3g/sms and mobile names :) (http://www.xxxamigoz.com/mobile.txt)

Nick is gonna shit, he loves mobiles lol

Haha, Islington definately still has its fair share of "web designer" types.

I already own the mobile<name> for one of the domains, so wanted to make the set. I agree that it is pretty similar to the "e" craze.. I've never searched for "e" something, but it seems there's quite a lot of it going on at overture.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, think I might take the risk anyway.. don't want to be kicking myself for not doing it in the future ;)

Nice list of domains you've got there.. Is that MediaPlazza you're using for content? I got a ringtone site recently that is using them.

Any plans to set something up on wimbledonsms.com for this year?

It was the e-commerce experts that were selling to companies, informing them of the way forward and when quizzed, it was almost an ecumenical question as to what they actually knew or did lol

If its to complete a set then go for it mate and the very best of luck :okthumb:

Overture is shitting at the moment over mobile / pda names and it will only increase in stature with all the recent events with google/dodgeball etc.

The mediaplazza setup is used on bout 40-50 of them whilst I get time to sort things out here for them properly, no use wasting them parked without income ;)

Wimbledonsms dunno .. tempted to do a flash game about getting a notorious british player to the final, as it will be better than the real thing. Always open to opportunities mate and thanks ;)

Good luck and if you need anything just holla mate :)
