View Full Version : Lightspeed up for sale ?

From a thread over at Lenses, looks like Steve Lightspeed is testing the waters to see what he might be able to get out of it.

Sounds, if he is serious and I have no reason to believe he isn't, as if he wants to go the MikeAI route and get out on top, take his money and retire.

So, how much you thinking Lightspeed might be worth ?

Hard to sell a program.

Lots of variables.

Memebers , processing 3rd party or easily transferred merchant...

Tough to work out a fair price IMHO.

He is probably just fucking round , anyone selling something like that would probably be doing it off boards through approaching people privately.

Nick is right. Lightspeed is not worth much, Steve knows the herd has come to the niche, and every bit of green grass that is left will be chewed up soon.

Running paysites is the toughest segment in the industry.

That is why traffic will always be king.

In the current climate, you cant sell a paysite, let alone an entire program and get the true value from it. It'll always be worth more to the person holding it than the person buying it due to risk factors.

The person who is currently holding the program has already made his/her capital investments. If it's at least cash flow positive, he's out nothing to stand pat.

The would-be buyer on the other hand is going to be out whatever the purchase price is. He's putting at least that much at risk. Now this is true of any business purchase. However, you normally price it at something like 3 times annual revenue. You can reasonably predict how much the cash flow is and how long it'll take to make it all back. The catch with adult is at any time any number of factors could cause extremely adversal effects to your income string. Visa could change the rules again, the Feds could go after any website with an exposed tit outside of a members area, or any other number of scenarios.

And even under the best case scenarios I dont think you can assume you'll run an adult business the same way 3 years from now that you run it right now. So the results are not predictable under any circumstances.

The end result of all of this, is you want out, you basically let it go at firesale pricing and enjoy what you earned in years past.

Yeah but shit happens with traffic income too.

Traffic sources change, that game and the rules are always changing...

I dunno how long I can keep milking the anorexic cash cow of online porn (please no skinny Sabby jokes guys, LOL). But I gotta stay... I still need more capital to start other things I want to do (Offline). So I will continue with this as long as I am making a decent income (by my standards). If I thought I could make more money doing something else I would. I havent found any greener grass to feed the cow at this point.

I certainly wouldnt be brave enough to invest too much money into anything porn related though - other than my basic operational expenses to keep myself going now.

Steve is hurting. Trust me I feel his pain.

There is no way he could sell for anything reasonable, I think he would be smarter sitting back and developing some new business angles. He has a lot of assets, if he redeploys them, thinks out of the box he could possibly make a lot more money with a lot less headaches.

It can be done, but it won't be easy.

well you might let another entity take over and run the operation for a share of the profits

I dont think Lightspeed is unsaleable, I just dont think Steve would get anywhere near what it should be worth. Basically you'd have to have a buyer that understood the niche for starters, and then had the cash to pay for it.

Next you'd also have to realize that when you go to sell something, a revshare affiliate basis goes into the liabilities column, not the assets one...

If he wants to retire, Steve can just close the affiliate program, stop paying recurring, and cash-in on the rebills, untracked signups, and old links that will never be removed...

and, of course, unplug his phone... ; )

Sabby, you are a bitter midle age woman with a skinny, bony ass. MikeAI and Katie will be here in 2 hours, tomorrow, while you wiggle your ass and collecting cents per wiggle, we will be in Spain, drinking wine, exploring Prado and meeting with old female friends with net worth in over 10 mils, and who've done it without lifting their labias on the cameras or stuffing their ass holes with bottles...by selling broads like you by dozens.
