Went to the Eagles with my family in concert and it was by far the best musical concert iIve ever been to. They were awesome live.

No show has topped seeing the Grateful Dead with the Steve Miller Band as the opening act as Soldier Field in 92 though. I had QUITE the fun time at that concert!! :P

Stones, yeah. U2, oh yeah baby! :bdance:

Um, James Taylor? Hello!

Remember that childhood song: "Which of these things don't belong with the others?"

Nothing wrong (necessarily) with James Taylor. But it's sorta like putting Jimmy Buffet in the same league with Elvis or Sinatra.

I've just got to post to stop this becoming TheEnforcer thread.
Let TE talk to himself! At least he listens to what he has to say!

Fuck, I wonder how much Stones tickets are going to be?

When you add the costs of a bus just for their wheel chairs and a travelling Nursing Home on top of the normal concert costs :o

Flog me with rusty nails but I have always HATED the Rolling Stones. The only songs by them I dig at all are Brown Sugar, Paint it black and Sympathy for the devil.

**awaits the onslaught**

Edit: It's cool you're getting to go though. Any live music is good music. I am hoping to go see Elton John this year.

Average ticket prices will be about $105 if I remember correctly. We'll want to get the best seats possible so upwards of $225+ a ticket I would guess to get a decent seat.

As everyone knows (both of these things), Keith Richards actually died in '79. And Mick, shit ... when I was young, sexagenarians like Mick Jagger and Tina Turner hobbled down the street with walkers. Now (bless them, and therefore us when we get that age) they can boogie, jump and twirl like 20 year olds!

Ya gotta love it! :rokk:

Back in the early 90's the Stones Steel Wheels tour came to Dallas...People were call in to the radio station asking how much tickets were and if they were going to give senior citizen discounts.

The DJ's broke out laughing...

These DJ's were real idiots...Most of the Stones fans are senior citizen.

Back a couple of years ago they preformed in Fort Worth at the Texas Motor SpeedWay...Sad to say, they fell way short of selling out. Tickets were selling for $40.00/person.

Lol, you were doing so well.... until you mentioned Elton John...

TE, enjoy your (overpriced) trip to the past :)

Live shows are where it's at....

Quick side note for Oprano, I saw a band called the Abdigradationiste a few years ago (small band, doesnt matter), but they had a Saxophone player who would do the show wearing just a leopard g-string and a fur coat (open of course)...

Reminds you of anyone?

Mick Jagger once declared he didn't want to sing "Satisfaction" at age 40. How about at 62?

Rock's aging Peter Pan and his fellow Rolling Stones will bring their just-announced world tour to Detroit's Comerica Park on Aug. 31.

Detroit is the fourth stop on the 35-date North American leg of the tour for the four grandfathers. Tickets, rumored to range from $50 to $400, will go on sale May 21. Online presales for American Express and fan club members could start around Tuesday.

Of course I saw the Stones on the Some Girls tour at JFK in Philly in I believe 1979

What's even sicker
My fiancée wasn't even born then and wouldn't be for another 4 years

Even More sicker
I took her to see Faster Pussycat in a small local club a few weeks ago
She said it's the best show she ever saw!!!

It was the opening date of their short summer US tour, bass player's guitar went out during a song, he finally gets so disgusted he walks off stage, the lead singer Tamie Downe gets the whole crowd shouting "Fuck You" in rhythm to the bass player, one of the guitar players picks up another bass when the roadies finally get things working and starts playing bass, the bass player comes back out
All hell breaks loose, drinks are flying
Everybody gets crazy and has the greatest time!
Faster Pussycat ends up comming back out for 2 encores

We were stinking drunk, she decides we have to work out way up to the front row (we do)

She just got a little glimpse of what she missed in the hairband heyday, the real LA Sleaze Rock not the fake Jon BonBlowme hair spray wanna be

Of course we have great seat for the upcoming Motley Crue reunion tour. They are doing a whole freak show circus type bit. Check out the article in this month's Rolling Stone

Have a great summer tour TE!

and if you never get great kinky sex
It's because you listen to James Taylor!!!

Yeah.. I was amazed at the sound it was so good. Often times bands don't sound nearly as good in concert but The Eagles were incredible.
