You don't need to pay for them. But there are a lot of people who pay for signatures. If they know webmaster (they can check his profile and find all posts), they can buy his sig. I think it's not bad.

I have already had a conversation with him on icq about this and stated that it would be in his best interest to become part of the community. I hope that he choose to contribute.
