How can they know what their webmasters are in need of 'support' wise?

Someone enlighten me please, im really not understanding the logic behind it.

As long as they have tits they don't need anything else

Of course that statement does not apply to Lisa

Not that she doesn't have boobies but she also has .....

I think I better leave this before I did the hole any deeper

I despise them overall. There's nothing that absolutely pisses me off more than to be having a conversation on AIM about something I consider important to be interrupted by some halfwit tramp wanting to say "Hi, I'm your rep from so and so and want to check why you aren't sending traffic?".

99% of them would starve to death if they didn't have tits to wave in the gallery puppies faces...keeping their hopes alive that the one sale a day they send can possibly woo some mindless tramp into getting out of her panties for them. They're the lowest of whores...half assed strippers who think they can tease people into sending traffic.

There are times rape should be legal.

There are exceptions. I stick up for cory here because I've seen him take some serious shit (not just from me) and retain his cool. Plus he's actually been a webmaster.

Most of the rest of the should be sodomized with a 2x4 and subject to public beatings. Imagine taking what are tantamount to secretaries and allowing them private info about personal info and traffic sources.

I want them to die.

Edit:
Example...I was chasing some money down a month or so ago. I never bring accounting errors to boards and shit cause that's not smart business. I like to keep everything private. It works better for the programs and for me. So I'm chit chatting with a program owner trying to get the details worked out about a fucked up wire...this isn't a small sum of cash - and BLAM...out of no where some bitch decides to introduce herself and quiz my on why I signed up a couple weeks ago and haven't sent any traffic.

Guess what...I'm not sending shit now.

One that posts here decided to volunteer my name and where she "thought" I lived on another board...guess what - that program won't get shit either. Even if they pay 1000 per join.

Don't get my started on program whores - it makes me foam at the mouth.

Wow, all that has been taken on board. I won't forget these comments.

We've never had a rep that solicited affiliates or more traffic via IM but we do on occasion write email to affiliates who've dropped off in sales or traffic to see if there is a problem.

Our affiliate manager is a woman but she has very very small tits. Not sure that helps though.

Tiny tits work....

Tits is tits....

Which reminds me, you have 3 posts but apparently have not been welcomed to the board.

On behalf of myself (and anyone that wants to join me) I apologize for overlooking the greeting.

Please start a thread introducing yourself so that we can tell you to.....

SHOW US YOUR TITS !

On the topic....

Support reps are like help desk techs.

The good ones know what they are talking about, treat you with respect and can often help make the job easier.

The bad ones read from a script, don't know shit and will usually send you down the wrong path every time.

Unfortunately, as in help desk techs, it seems to be about 10:1 bad to good...

The only thing a bad support rep doesn't do that a bad help desk tech does do is tell you that reformatting your hard disk and reinstalling the OS will fix just about anything...

Actually, to be fair it's not just the females

Marie got an email from one total prat the other day that said" I've taken the time to write this so you should take the time to read this."

Unfortunately for dear little Rinaldo she did take the time and immediately wrote back asking some questions.

Three days later we're still waiting for the answers so Rinaldo if you're reading this - yoo hoo - wave wave - we really would like some answers - you faggot.

Hmmm.... I'll avoid the cliche/obvious - already been addressed.

I don't feel that a sales rep needs to have been a webmaster. However, they better fucking know how to market their product and be able to view a page/site/etc. their affiliates are building and know within moments whether or not it will convert to their program.

Yeah, good luck on that for the most part.

Most, NOT all, reps tend to be affiliate fluffers. And that is really sad. I honestly think I can count on one hand (I have the requisite 4 fingers and 1 thumb), maybe 2 hands, the number of account reps that I've dealt with that actually knew their shit ... about MARKETING.

Man/Woman/Camel they basically come in two flavors. Those that try and baffle you with worthless bullshit - and those that actually have a working brain above their neck and can work with you. The latter are an endangered species.

When I contact an account rep and say "Hey, I'm promoting site XYZ because it's a niche I'm familiar with and have had good success promoting it, but site XYZ is getting ratios for me of 0:8000. What's up?" I do NOT want to hear how site ABC is converting like mad and I should just switch my focus. FUCK YOU! If site XYZ sucks then just say so. My feelings won't be hurt. However, if you merely try and pimp me on selling site ABC and I have no interest in selling that niche I'm gone.

For example, I don't do "triple anal tranny" sites. I neither have the knowledge, nor the impetus to learn about that niche (at this time). Don't tell me that your site featuring that is selling like hotcakes. I wouldn't be able to sell it for shite!

If you are a good sales rep, you will be able to help me attempt to increase my sales to the niche/site(s) I AM promoting within your program.

No, I don't. You can waste yer time with ass kissing namedroppers who couldn't find enough traffic to shut down a geocities page if you want to. If they were as brilliant about this business as all the other sycophants portray them, they’d be kickin’ it on a beach sipping pina coladas.

A rep that can cut me a deal or show me how to market a product better, I'll listen to. The majority of sycophants suckin' off supposed industry leaders and each other along with the wanna be whore eye candy programs throw out serve no fuckin' purpose and waste my time.

I don't even like porn. I've seen enough of it. The privilege of chatting with some dimwitted tramp that happens to be cute isn't what I do this for. I don't wanna see those "shout out" or "you're such a genius" or "you're an icon" ass kissing threads and I don't wanna have some mindless twit bothering me when I'm working.

While I agree with Nickdark about Aeon, in spades.

Aeon does have a valid point.

I'd like to see just one rep tell me that had a site that was top ten in the world on ST, or were considered a whale by any program. Just something to tell me that they know what they are doing. Anything.

Sadly, is far and few between.

Welp guys, I hope I can make it Number 3 as we are working on launching Angel Dollars (Amateur Site Program) and once it is launched it will be what I am pushing 75% of the time and TCM will have about 25% of my work hours devoted towards it.

I have a "little" experience at being a webmaster - hopefully I don't come across to everyone like some of the reps you guys have dealt with. I will be the first to admit I don't know everything about marketing this particular niche but I do remember the fundamentals and a majority of the problems with bad signup ratios can be fixed by

A ) Changing the site you are sending traffic to in that niche
B ) Tweaking your pages and making the advert much more targetted - I will be trying to work in geo-targetted ads for our amateur sites once we launch... or a few weeks down the road.

The idea of seeing "Susan the pickle sucker loves to hear from men in Chicago, IL" etc... is an outstanding way to market amateur programs as you are really trying to give that person a one on one connection with the amateur model herself - this is a different niche and I have alot to learn about it but I will elarn it quickly. Hopefully past friends will answer a few questions here and there for me <Ahem... Mike> lol

And the

"I took the time to write this you better take the time to reply" should get a person fired, period, bar none, no excuses... If I did it I would EXPECT to be fired and quickly. That is more than unethical it is just outright rude.

On the main subject I think there are 2 types of account reps. Actually let's make it 3.

1) The one who handles current affilaites and their needs along with giving them advice on how to improve their signup ratios through design, wording, or layout changes.

2) The one who spends all of his time recruiting new affiliates

3) Combine #1 & #2 as well as giving management advice on the program and improvements that would increase productivity.

The main problem is yeah I can imagine affilaite managers get to pushy promoting their sites. Pressure sales never work people, those of us who have common sense know this so obviously if you are being pressure sold to get traffic running through an old program or a new one through ICQ/Abrasive e-mails - Block them and put their program on the "Do not do business with list"

However if they drop you an e-mail and say "Man you were kicking ass there for a while, I know I would of been happy with stats like that if it was my traffic :) I just figured I would drop you a line to see if you needed any new promo materials, pictures, or anything else for <program name here> I could do for you"

- Just My Humble Opinion

I honestly don't think an affiliate rep has ever given me advice on how to maximise my traffic to them... :(

I don't usually have women contact me to sign up for so and so's program. :(

But then I really only send traffic to people I've know since the 90's

And of course having never posted on the outhouse about my bling , big pimping whatever , amazing plasma TV I'm think of buying , or anything else like that I guess they don't know I exist. :(

After all as Brand0n said he knows all the big "playas" and he has never heard of me , so therefore I'm a nobody......

Sweet!!!! :)

At least we nobodies know our shoes!! :)

Seriously though....

If any affiliate is gonna send numbers surely they aren't persuaded because some boardwhore flirts with them????? (that said , you will never find a group of people more suceptable to "hos" than webmasters IMHO)

They send to someone who :

1.) Is part of a AAA rated company
2.) Is known to them over an extended period
3.) can do numbers himself.

Common sense.

This is why I deal with Anthony and Macdaddybucks.com

Ok , his flirting is a bonus :)

/Edit
lol ..you have some serious problems.

[/b][/quote]
Drunkslut, in it's hayday could have been a top10 on ST in it's category, except never saw the need to give any traffic to a counter... but I'm not a standard rep either... I'm still saving my pennies to buy me a nice set of tits...haha

In the older days, program owners personally flew out and met up with people who could send massive traffic and wined and dined them.

I personally feel for huge accounts like this, it should be done if not by the program owner then an affiliate manager who knows how to have a good time boozing and schmoozing the potential client. Either that or find out what makes them tick and bring them a present, a good meal, and some business talk. Not everyone likes to party in this business.

I'm sure some programs still do this but very few if there are any do it regularly. It's a shame as that builds a solid relationship with the client and vice versa. This way you feel more comfortable doing busienss with the person as you have met them face to face.

JMHO Though :)

Wizzo, I think even if program operators of nowadays read this, they still woudln't go this route.. :) SO MANY PEOPLE in this business are purely home bound, seriously... Many are afraid to talk on the phone/skype for christs sakes - Not the kind of person I would want to do business with...

I hear you... and I prefer to do biz that way, it's great when we fly a good affiliate down to Florida or somewhere for a few days RnR or go visit their operation. Or the few affiliates that I talk on the phone with regular.

But on the other side, I have a few affiliates that don't like "special or personalized" treatment. For example, we are doing the Redneck Getaway as a way of saying thanks and getting to know our top affiliates better. I have one guy that we would easily pay for his whole trip(1st class if he wanted), but he told me other than talking on ICQ, he doesn't want to build anymore contact than that, just because it might skew his ability to make sound judgments about us. Which I can understand, but I don't believe it's the best way...

I dont get where the hatred from reps comes into play?

Surely some are annoying and some are far too pushy, and often offer advice on stuff they only know a little bit about. However, they are there to bring you another revenue stream.

If you like to keep all your eggs where they are then dont use them, or the sites they represent.

I am a traffic whore...i dont show tits..but anyone serious i have worked with has made lots of money. At the very least you can use a rep to obtain a better relationship with a possible vector of income.
