I wonder how long it will take to get 500+ people on and off that plane?

They did a four hour test run and loaded it up with technical equipement...That is still not the same as people.

That big monster is going to suck up a lot of fuel. In order to composaite for the fuel used, their flights need to be sold out. :o

LOL - you think the mountain would win that contest??? :-))

This is interesting...

Airbus A380 Faces Weight Problems
Just six months from the start of test flights, and less than a year before its first scheduled public flight, the Airbus A380 is still overweight by as much as 4 metric tons. The excess weight would hurt aircraft efficiency, resulting in financial penalties to Airbus. Engineers, however, are still working to shave weight off of the plane. About 25 percent of the A380 is made from composites, including carbon/epoxy and Glare, and fiberglass/aluminum laminate.

How about closing down the upper deck?

Holy cow, you don't see what's going on, do you? They aren't going to make their money by selling seats. The Airbus A380 is like a flying movie theatre... they make their money on overpriced drinks and concessions. The upper deck is where the money is!

Not to mention the casino that will inevitably be up there. Those tend to turn a profit.

It's simple...The Airbus A380 is replacing the 747. Hear are the stats on both.

http://larsholst.info/blog/2005/01/20/airb...-vs-boeing-747/ (http://larsholst.info/blog/2005/01/20/airbus-a380-vs-boeing-747/)

The Airbus A380 is slightly larger then the 747 overall. The Airbus A380 is heavier the the 747.

This is what they need to do...Add an additional engine on each wing of the Airbus. that brings the total of engines to six. That is 21,000 lbs. of thrust per engine. That bring the over-all total engine thrust to 126,000 lbs. That is an increase of 42,000 lbs. of thrust. That should get that puppy flying without any problems.

All they fucking have to do is call me. :)
