All the pharmacies busted...and some adult webmasters we know are in trouble
Looks like the adult company ExtremePay is in some BIG trouble.
From what i have been hearing from others, and now seeing actual NAMES in the news being indicted, i think it's getting pretty scary for them.
People who work at extremepay office told me they had rcmp visit.
Kevin is a US. citizen and the canadian government is extraditing him to the US. on these charges.
-----------------
The US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) said it has busted up a major India-based pharmacy that was illegally selling Vicodin, steroids, amphetamines, and other controlled drugs over the Internet.
The head of the drug ring, Dr. Brij Bhushan Bansal, was reportedly picked up at his home in Agra, India, yesterday. His son, Temple University healthcare-management grad student Akhil Bansal, was arrested in Philadelphia.
The DEA said a total of 20 people were arrested worldwide. Besides the Bansals and their employees, the sweep netted several North American affiliates and distributors who submitted orders to Bansal organization.
According to the indictment, the distributors included:
KEVIN ATKINSON (operator of performancemarketingltd.com *extremepay*); VICTOR DEVORE (operator of bigcitymeds.com, greentreerx.com, mercomeds.com, rxapproved.com, and rxglobally.com); TOM PETERS and KELLY ANN COUCHMAN (operators of myemeds.com); MATTHEW JOSEPH MELAO and CHRISTOPHER GEOFF LAINE (operators of ourprescriptionsforless.com and yourpharmacyone.com); ROHN WALLACE (operator of usarxpress.com and discountmedsonline.com; WILLIAM RANDALL REED, a/k/a “millerlight”; and RICHARD DABNEY

Streetracer - name your sources - cos I can't find that anywhere
Interesting how this is twice you've come out against us.. perhaps you have a personal vendetta or somethign?
Don't go making claims when you have NOTHING to back them up
you know, i believed this at first just cause I trust people on oprano not to post bullshit..but upoin further investigation
i found the EXACT same release, MINUS the extremepay bit
Spammers who market prescription drugs may find their suppliers are hard to reach as of today.

Despite the arrests, all of the pharmacy sites listed above were still live Wednesday afternoon. So was OrdersPanel.com, the site they used to place orders with the Bansals.
Pills are currently one of the most heavily spammed items. It will be interesting to see whether this action results in some relief from all the "pharma" spam.
why do people constantly want to spread shit like this

I am confused Jace, what is not to believe if you found the exact same article but streetracer just clarified whom he was talking about by adding a name we would recognize as the company name ?

So we're not named here - http://www.usdoj.gov/dea/pubs/pressrel/pr042005.html - yet you're still saying we're involved?
Perhaps I'm not as intelligent as I thought, but to me that seems to show it right there - we're not named - the only way we're connected is through this crap posted on these boards..
Jace.. where did you find that release you 'quoted'? Do you have a link back to it? is it from a news source? it is legitimate? or is it just from a message board??
Streetracer - LOL, now you're claiming it's coming from DUANE'S mouth? So Duane is going around bitching up his own program now?

Yeah I was of the understanding that the only addition was to clarify the company name, I did not realize ( from the article copy and paste that you added that shows the name Kevin but not the company name extremepay) That the Name was added too.

I'm hearing one of the other guys involved has already been sentenced to 20 yrs.
I looked at it last yr.My lawyer said don't go anywhere near.
Glad I didn't.
I think bringing opiats in , ranks with cocaine.
Still money to be made from sending traffic to US based pharma's with US Docs , and pharmacists though. :)

As I understand it the DEA's complaint is this:
Operation “Cyber Chase” targeted major pharmaceutical drug traffickers who allegedly shipped Schedule II-V pharmaceutical controlled substances including narcotics, amphetamines, and anabolic steroids directly to buyers of all ages without the medical examination by a physician required by U.S. law.
(Taken from: http://www.usdoj.gov/dea/pubs/pressrel/pr042005.html)
These guys were committing a number of very serious crimes:
1) Importing of class II drugs into the US. Heroin is a class II drug so it is no different in the eyes of the law than someone mailing you a bag of heroin.
2) Repackaging drugs within the US. They were basically splitting up bags of pills sent to them and resending them without any pharmacist's license. Again consider the heroin analogy and you'll see its no different to dealing.
3) Using non FDA approved drugs. This is illegal if you are a doctor or pharmacist or not. Customs will occasionally allow special dispensation for certain drugs if, for example, a life saving or prolonging drug is unavailable in the US. But this dispensation must be sought on a personal level.
4) Failure to provide a doctor's medical examination. These can be only provided through a US licensed doctor and in the case of vicodin, oxycodone, phentermine etc. one with a DEA license. As I understand it however an online questionnaire, if reviewed by a doctor, does constitute a medical examination. But these guys weren't even doing that.
The operation appears to have been sparked by the overdose death of a minor who had ordered vicodin from one of these operators. The operator I believe received a 20 year sentence.
I should add most of this information was gleaned from a lawyer we contacted regarding the legality of setting up an internet pharmacy. He confirmed our common sense thoughts on this practice and as a result we didn't touch it with a bargepole.

I have nothing against ExtremePay, I have nothing for them, I don't know them nor anyone there. I have no agendas.
I'm just a fact checker.
With that in mind, Ruth, please explain the following:

Extreme Pays = Extreme Jail time.
Funny how when Drav connected the dots the mouths got shut. Ruth since your going to need a new job I think Iraq is looking for a new Minister of Information.
i always enjoy how people in the wrong tend to push until it is proved in an open forum that they are wrong.

The Internet doesn't shield you from the law - just because you do it on-line doesn't release you from anything. Anyone caught like this deserves what they get. Drug trafficing is illegal.
Now... They could have got away with it doing high BP meds, Antibiotics, antacids and so on - but scheduled drugs?
They were inviting prison sentences right there...

I have never met ruth, but I guess she decided that things with extremepay were not gonna work out ?
Actions always tell me much more than words.
I am sorry to see the extremepay people have such a bad time, I really like JMan and I know he was there for a while.
good luck to all in their future endeavors.
( Ruth I do not ike being lied to though) so at least come back and apologize for trying to steer peopl wrong here on Oprano with your denials, and attempts to slander a person like street racer that was just giving the honest help that webmasters need to make informed desicions! It is in my mind the most decent thing you can do, to show me that you are a caring person and not just someone that will tell people anything to get a buck out of them .

But Joe that's just SOP for this industry and you'll find it listed in the handbook just below the suggestion that you should blame the rogue designer.
If someone catches you with your pants down immediately try to destroy their reputation.
Facing up to the truth and admitting you were wrong is for pussies.

Would imagine they are done from all the bad press, lately and in the past.
Will ask Kevin if I see him around.
