I am very very new but have gotten my toes wet a little and took blind swim towards the deep end in '99 with e-mail :awinky: ... but I have a couple sites running (such as they are) and learning :yowsa:
apparel-printers.com (http://apparel-printers.com) is a site I put together for my soon to be x-job
gotlifeforce.com (http://gotlifeforce.com) is a site for nutritional supplements I use that has comp plan
traditionalcycles.com (http://traditionalcycles.com) is a site for a buddy of mine
adult-stuff.com (http://adult-stuff.com) is a site for.........well... guess
No biggie if someone wants to talk some shit about the sites :moon: ... these sites have alot to be desired... no secret there... I have tough skin so IF it makes YOU feel good... go for it... I am sure many would probaly scrap them and build new but that is were I am.... I just threw a bunch of stuff together and change it as I am able. I have alot of work to do that I know how to do before I was planning on asking for help.... but I welcome any help anyone is willing to throw out there. I anyone really wants to piss... I got duck feathers :P ... piss won't even leave a residue
right now I am trying to straighten out a big fucking mess from changing host and getting old and revised files mixed up :headwall: ... I always have had an organizing problem with shit anyway.

and they don't have to be big fancy cms tools we're talking about.
a lot of stuff can just be stored in excel spreadsheets for ease of access, things like that :)

:)
For example :
I keep a spreadsheet called sponsorlist in it I have a page that lists all the sponsors I am signed up with the columns have the sponsors name, my username with that sponsor, my password for that sponsor and a link to the sponsors sign in page.
In addition to that page, for each sponsor I have a page that lists all their sites and my links for those sites labeled as to whether the link is a revshare link, a pps link, a console link, a consolless link etc.
So, if I want to create a link for that sponsor/site, all I have to do is go to the sponsor page, go down the site column to the site I am using and do a copy of the link and then paste that into the html I'm using.
Comes in handy when I'm building. Say I wanted to do a redhead site because I ended up with a couple of nice sets that I haven't used yet.
I open up the spreadsheet and do a search for the word "red" through the entire workbook and I get a look at all the various sites that either in the name or description column have "red" in them and look through pretty much all the possible redhead sites I have in my current sponsor list :)
there's other uses that excel can work for to.
I have a page of linklist submit pages that have the name of the linklist, the recip link for the linklist and the submit link for the linklist. So when I am building I can grab the recip links real easy and when I am submitting I just go down the page and click the various submit links I want.
Doesn't automate it, but sure helps :)

It works :)
Do you store your links in your text files as hrefs ?
Then you just open them as html and you can click the links you have stored in the text files :)

no, but that looks easy enough... I just cut and paste... I have links that I go to bookmarked and the text links are like affiliate links used in my sites... If I don't remember the lonin info I open the text file for the programs I belong to.
I have been wanting to be able to sort links from all sponsors but haven't gotten serious enough to have a solution... I kind figured that that site is what is going to bring in some money so I need to learn how to put together a good site and hopefully along the way everything else will come together a piece at a time....... like the subject we are on now :) ... I would say a discription tag for each affiliate link in Excel would make looking at all my "big boobs" affiliate links, no matter what sponsor, easy to look and choose from.
Looks like I need to check out Excel and put it to use :agrin:

Excel makes that pretty easy too :)
Lets you sort however you want to :)
But, I am not a giant advocate of excel, it is just one of many quick and easy ways to help stay organized :)
I like the excel advice Sar :okthumb:

Thanks for the awesome tip :wnw: ... I just relized how easy it is to add another field anytime you think of a new way of wanting to sort them...

Great stuff about the excel.
Some things you just never think of until someone enlightens you.
I started with just .txt files then went to the hidden page on one of my sites with all my ref links and links to the tools i used.
Keeping it all local is smart, and easily enough to transer the data to other systems if you need it elsewhere. And excel is something i need some definate knowledge refinement in..lol

Yeah, excel is ok for what it does. But since I'm a database guy, for most of my stuff I take a database approach :)
However, excel is handy because you can publish to the web with it and you can just hang a workbook out there and pretty much use it native right on the web if you want.
http://www.awrats.com/examplexls.htm is a published version
http://www.awrats.com/examplexls.xls is the straight excel version (you have to have excel on your puter though) :)
