On a total of 3815 raw 2917 Uniques that we paid for so far,

2348raw/1564Uniques were from countries we do not accept. And our list of "bad" countries is pretty limited. (i.e. we accept all of western europe, etc..)

For example, this is some of what we received:
India Overture (1) ALL 348 254
Thailand Overture (1) ALL 330 152
Egypt Overture (1) ALL 217 138
Pakistan Overture (1) ALL 149 84
Turkey Overture (1) ALL 133 94
Philippines Overture (1) ALL 123 90

Now, we asked them, what was up with this, and their lovely answer:

"Your account is a U.S. based account. Therefore, your Listings are only viewed in the U.S. and Canadian market places. For your account to be viewed in other market places world wide, additional accounts would need to be opened to support each market place."

Well gee, the US market place is 50% bastard traffic? What a tremendous deal...

p.s.: This doesnt mean the rest of the traffic is US/canada, it just means its from countries we accept.

oh, and to rub it in: http://money.cnn.com/2005/04/19/technology....reut/index.htm (http://money.cnn.com/2005/04/19/technology/yahoo_earnings.reut/index.htm)

On their side or on our side?

On our side, that's exactly what we are doing and that's why we saw this.

On their side, apparently not. I wrote them back, we'll see what comes out of it.

Lets also not negate the fact that for many 'non adult' companies, geo-targeting to them means simply providing a .com .es or .co.in domain extension ;)

It is therefore realistic to expect them to beleive anyone typing overture.com into their browser is a US citizen thus, your results only display on the US site ;)

Afterall, only Indian citizens will type overture.co.in into their browser and they dont know about .com's LOL

Just another of the oddities of marketing with non adult companies, the vast majority of them, we have found over the last 12 months really arent as tehnologically advanced as us in the adult industry at the present time.

Have you tried spex.com traffic, which is geo-targeted.

If not, you can hit me up at icq 160118874369 for more info. I'll also have a promo offer to get started.

Thanks,

That's what Im guessing so far.

They "only" show our link on the .com site, so obviously, only americans and canadians will see it.

God forbid they would geo-target...

overture is very technologicaly behind Google currently
Google is a pain in a ass to deal with too, but at least they have a very good Geo trageting technology
