For women sites

Ok I've been building and submitting (more and more thanks Trev :P ) and I'm seeing good things traffic wise.(wont do the stats thing lol)

My question is when should I think about covering another type of niche/market?

Because my immediate goal it to bring home enough to sit here all day and cover the bills with some left over and then push it more and more. Should I still just plug away at what I'm doing until I get there?

Because I would like to try the for women only market, not sure why but I feel the current niche that I cover (lesbians) will only take me so far.

I've heard it said that most men are easy sales if the right conditions exist, does the same hold true for women?

IMO, and admittedly limited experience, women do look at porn, but women for the most part do not buy porn. They certainly dont buy porn as guys know it. It's more about the tease and mental stimulation.

I have to wonder if you get an adult site that draws female viewers if you aren't better served using it to sell them shoes instead of trying to sell them a porn subscription.

Our 4women's site does quite well actually. Another nice thing about those particular members is that they will pay to upsell to other things in the members area so that does
increase their worth.

Lisa updates the content in that site, so she's always on the prowl for hunky, hung, and sexy glamour hardcore that doesn't include some bimbo being gang banged by a bunch of high fiving morons.

Lot's of erotic stories and things to keep the ladies tittilated works very well.

CJ didn't think we could pull it off years ago. But, it's worked out well for us and it's a good converter, and retainer, (+upseller).

What I did say is that its pretty scummy (and pretty lame) to launch a product by slagging off someone else's ... be sure you are aware how valuable Lisa is to your company, because the benefit to you goes way further than you realize.

If you want to market to women, the best advice I can give is don't think like a pornographer, think like a woman.

Women do buy porn (oh look, my face has turned blue from repeating myself! LOL) but they buy porn differently ... women use porn to store fantasies for bed time, men use it to squirt.

Women multi task, men are single point focused ... a woman can surf porn, feed the kids and research washers for the kitchen tap at the same time whereas a man has 1 hand for mouse and 1 for dick.

In the same way you market the qualities of any niche to your target audience, you can market to women - find the qualities of your target market, make ads that point out how your site fulfills them. Its really that easy ...

As to whether you should bother or not ........ I think its a difficult niche to go after on its own, especially if the whole web thing is new to you. I'd suggest to focus on 'hunks' rather than porn for women as you double your target audience by opening up to gay men also.

Being that you are doing lesbian already, you've already probably got a lot of women traffic ... lesbian fantasies in straight women is one of the most common 'niches' within porn for women.

Try an experiment, out of curiousity ... put a sex toy review section up (just a basic one) with a few sex toy pics and an affiliate link. (todd's sextoyworld.com and safesexmall.com are the best)

and if you can, or if trev can help, a basic survey or poll asking your surfers their gender ... only the women will vote, so you'll get an idea of numbers.

I’m thinking of taking your advice and going with the hunks niche. As then I’m open to two markets and I’m not limiting myself just to find that being a woman doesn’t mean I can sell to women.
