With a domain name like HotSpurs.com off the top of my head I can only think of two potential avenues to go down if you want to stick with something that would "fit" the domain name. One- a mainstream dating site which is a bot too close to adult Two- a site about selling horse riding stuff or something like that that has to do wth horses, hore riding, cowboys, etc.

Well.... that makes it a bit different then.....

You could make it a fan site AND maybe buy another domain and make it a soccer portal and have them complement each other. Soccer is huge worldwide so I'm sure you could get some dcent traffic to it and make some money selling all sorts of soccer related stuff.

I'm with TE on the dating option as dating is massive online and doesn't look to be slowing.

Then there's personals/party sites, these are close to dating without being dating. People sign up create a profile and start chatting and shit. Excellent for running with a advertising program such as accelerator-media.com (http://accelerator-media.com)

There's also the fan site for http://www.spurs.co.uk but like you said this would take some running and I can't see how you could compete with the official sites merchandising prices.

cj.com are scum.

I've had three accounts there in seven years. They will close you for no reason, no contact info, nothing. You go there one day and you're locked out. Then you have to change your banners out.

They don't reply to emails, even when you are in good standing. They are so stupid they are the only ad network that instead of giving you an affiliate code (second tier), they hide it, put it on automatic wait for approval and then go past the deadline so it suspends. No one has ever had their own referral program approved.

Banners that stop working, codes that get redirected. Never made a dime off of them compared to Link Share, ClickXChange and the others.

... Did I mention they are scum?

amazon - has a keyword based ad feed so you can have an ad with 1 or 10 products in it, all related to your keywords ....

allposters - similar to amazon, keyword based ads - you can include the thumbs of posters etc on your site so it fills up and looks like it has content

both also have auto updating 'specials' pages ... so updating content for se's ...
