We're mulling a family vacation to Orlando this summer (nanny-in-tow) and I was checking out accomodations and know that the Nickelodeon themed hotel is opening in May.

http://www.nickhotel.com
it seems like the ultimate family-themed hotel, so much so that we might even be able to distract the kids long enough to notice they aren't as Disney World (not that we haven't ruled that out, but the less money we spend on the Mouse, the more we can spend at Universal Studios ;-))

Looks cool but nothing beats the Mouse for Orlando accommodations

We go at least once a year if not twice

we might still do the Mouse, but my kids are such Nick fanatics, they might not even want to leave the hotel, especially with the water slides and their 3-bedroom suites that have full kitchens ;-)

After looking at the site I'm afraid to show it to my son
Would just add more days to our next vacation

Dream Vacation In The Dells

Been saving now for over a year
Let's pack the kids get outta here
We'll leave behind our troubles for a week
We'll borrow the pop-up from Dennis and Steve
Just tell the boss I gotta leave
Be the best week of our lives as I can tell
We'll take our dream vacation in the Dells

We'll see the robot world and the water show
Go anywhere you wanna go
Circus world, museums and Baraboo
We'll play mini-golf at Jellystone
And we'll finally see that house of foam
And if the kids wanna buy a t-shirt what the hell
It's our dream vacation in the Dells

And at night when the kids is all asleep
Then off to the lounge for a nightcap we can sneak
I know our lives they ain't the stuff of dreams
But for one full week we can live like kings and queens

So let's board the dogs lock the door
We'll roll down Interstate 94
Be the best week of our lives I can tell
We'll take our dream vacation in the Dells

And at night when the kids is all asleep
Then off to the lounge for a nightcap we can sneak
I know our lives they ain't the stuff of dreams
But for one full week we can live like kings and queens

So let's board the dogs lock the door
We'll roll down Interstate 94
Be the best week of our lives as I can tell
We'll take our dream vacation in the Dells
Gonna take our dream vacation in the Dells

In all seriousness Wisconsin Dells is an incredibly fun place to take a family vacation. A ton of different amusement parks and waterparks with some incredibly nice hotels that have waterparks in them as well.

BTW- Drank a SHITLOAD of alcohol partying at the bar listening to these guys for years. Still go see them on occasion. Missed em last summer though. ;) They are fun as all hell. Basically an excuse to act goofy and drink a WHOLE lot of alcohol. The best thing about going to see The Swing Crew perform is that it's not like seeing your average "bar band", the quality of the music and the crazyness of their antics will keep you entertained throughout the show. Here's the bottom line: Go to the show, act like an idiot, repeat periodically. Nuff' Said.
:P
Spent three summers with a pattern of working as a lifeguard at least 10-12 hours a day 6 or 7 days a week and getting done between 8:30 and 9:00 and then going out and drinking until 3-5 am and getting up and start the working day over again at between 8 and 10 am!! Three of the best summers on my life. Sun, hot women all over the place, a job i loved to do, shitloads of booze and a tolerance that wouldn't quit. Ahhhh the memories..... :)

Yeah, I think I would have just as much fun as the kids....the prices aren't bad either (although I'm sure they'll love selling us $20 Dora The Explorer drinking glasses or $100 SpongeBob boxer shorts ;-))

If you decide to go to the Dells it is only a couple hours drive from me and I could come down and say hello and take you guys out for dinner and drinks.
