If you guys are serious then why wouldn't you just throw up a private room on Oprano ?

I mean Gonzo is part owner so I think he probably has the pull.....

But, I could be wrong, ya know....

Sarettah,
That sounds like the perfect solution... but there are ATL webmasters that will not frequent "O".

Their loss, in my humble opinion.

We have tried a few different ways to stay in touch. We'll try this one and see if it works.

Jace and Gonzo.... thanks for the efforts :awinky:

Hi kathi :)

Well, yahoo is one way to go but (imho) you are almost certain to get a lot of crap traffic pretending to be Atlanta webmasters joining so they can do the spam the yahoo groups thing....

perhaps a better solution would be a private email discussion group. Pretty easy to set up with most mail servers that I've worked with...

It won't take us long to "weed out" the non-Atlanta webmasters. There aren't THAT many of them. So stop sending the boys the spam to make their peckers bigger - we're on to you!!

which is why gonzo should make it so he has to approve anyone that wants to join

i run about 200 yahoo groups, i know them very well, and there are ways to make the group private and never have to worry about spam

The list is currently open for anyone to join. That'll change if it becomes a problem, but for now the idea is to make it easy for anyone who wants to hang out to get in and signup. I like to keep things simple:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/atlantaadultwebmasters/join

Members list isn't visible, didn't want anyone to be able to grab emails THAT easily. Yahoo even has a way to post to the group while hiding your email, though I haven't tried it. It's enabled if anyone wants to use it.

If anyone spams the list, we'll just feed table snacks to spambot. If it becomes a problem, we'll lock it down tighter.

And kathi's right, we've pretty well proven we're all stubborn about being stuck in our ways as far as the boards and folders we frequent, so it's just another way to try to network the locals.

If it works, great! If not, well hell, we're out the 5 minutes it took to set it up.
