I am a good way through the development of a mobile phone adult site with a friend of mine who is very well versed in the area of mobile phone technology. He has the skills and experience when it comes to anything relating to mobile phones, i have the abilities when it comes to creating a web medium for it and graphic design.

Forgetting about the traffic side of things (thats another topic entirely that while more important than this, its not what i want to discuss here), I would like to know what anyone here knows in regards to billing mobile phone users.

We have put together a business model where the user would be able to access the photos/movies either via their mobile phone browser of the net, and then either download a single image, a complete set of images, or have a monthly subscription to the website in general.

Now please, I'm not after people voicing how stupid they think mobile porn is because of hte small screens, etc etc. I'm trying to find out legitimate options in regards to billing.

Premium SMS and Credit Card Billing are the two main ones. Does anyone know, or has anyone ever heard of a credit card billing system that is capable of making a secure transaction via wap? Are there billing companies out there, adult specifically, who already offer a premium sms recurring revenue based service? And if so, what countries?

Cheers.

Here ya go, Yug. Got this press release yesterday at All Of 'Em. Below is the pertinent info. Think it's what you're looking for. Btw, if you use 'em, let us know how they are.

Unwired Appeal announced the launch of ZaptoPhone Adult, a mobile entertainment service designed to easily enable adult websites to offer their premium adult images to over 150 million cell phone subscribers across the USA. Adult websites can start using the service by simply signing-up http://www.zaptophone.com Adult sites are able to define price levels for their content within the ZaptoPhone billing platform. Unwired Appeal assesses a small delivery fee that includes processing fees for credit card, PayPal, 900number, and DuoCash

Which market (geographic) are you targeting, Yug? There is a vast difference in US billing and delivery versus EU or Asia billing and delivery. It's almost like you need two different business models.

Cheers Bjorn, I remember hearing about you guys ages ago and i was searching for a link for awhile there, someone actually ICQ'd it to me earlier as well!

VERY interesting site Drav, cheers for the link.

And KK, would be targeting the european markets first, or pretty much any market apart from the US. The US mobile system is currently fucked, not to mention the technology is miles behind the rest of the world.

The main problem keeping the US back is that theres so many different carriers who each have their own set of rules and regulations.

I've got a US solution for you if you're interested -- they can deliver across all platforms and you'll like the billing setup. They've also got good distribution througout Europe as well, it's where they started. Their real business is games and applications for companies like Jamdat and Sony Ericsson, they sort of stumbled into this one, you know step in the shit and come out smelling like roses. I couldn't have a nicer set of clients to deal with either, very professional and get things done.

What's a good email for you and I'll be more than happy to hook you guys up.

KK
can i have that info too
i have been looking for a solution
the zaptophone guys have a limit on size and length <500kb and <20 seconds

I wish to provide daily audio horoscopes to the public. Currently the audio scopes are being provided to Nextel but we wish an additional outlet. The audio scopes are 35-40 seconds long, in mp3 format, and a max. of 650kb per scope.

Thanks

Oceania -- YES YES and YES -- they are going to want to talk to you with your background as well about working on their audiotext extras, that no one else I've seen has as well :)

Kimmy Kimmy please hook me up with them as well. I am tired of being raped by the telcos et al for my ringtones and I have been looking for a workaround of the established system.

It sounds like you have a client that might know a thing or two.

You can start selling your content by using www.mpush.com - integration is easy,
global interconnect/revshares in place with most cellphone carriers. You can start selling pics imediately (no set up fee), movieclips need to be converted into cellphone-freindly format.

Questions? Hit me up!
