on any form of dvd player? I just got a movie released from the UK and it wont play on my dvd player. this sucks.

says stop, playback not allowed in your region. any manipulation i can do on say my laptop to change the region?

grimm search for a 'hacked version' of a dvd player, those usually play dvd rw well, and have no region lock..
that will play them like a charm :)

Tell us exactly what kind of dvd drive you have. Most drives are specific and have software region locks. That is, if you use them a certain amount of times, they will lock to a particular region.

Some dont of course :) ... but best to be safe rather than sorry
