One warm spring night in Vancouver we gathered at our favourite restaurant downtown. A fine French restaurant housed in the old garment section of Vancouver known as Yaletown , now a popular spot for upstart dot.com companies to have there offices and decent restaurants to service the upstart owners of same.

The setting was perfect , the sun slowly began to slip behind the lowrise building behind the boulevard as we sipped our apperitifs of very dry martinins on the terrace and vigoroudly discussed argued and joked over the days events.

The last rays of warming sun retreated as the waiter decanted and presented the first bottle of Latour.

5 bottles later we were staggering drunk! No idea who we talked to or what about but I remember what we ate as I saw it coming back later.
