Serge we been looking for a drinkable cabernet so that FFN's can exten their life past a heart attack.

The clerk kept telling is that one was the most exciting wine of the year.
What the hell does an exciting wine taste like?

Some of em said they had earthy and woody tones.

I can get a glass of water and mix in some dirt and bark for free.

Can Winetalk help?

Save me from the dirt wine! (http://www.winetalk.com)

I've been slugging down my last bottles of beaujolais nouveau but it won't be good for much longer.

Any red wines are equally good for your health - don't focus on the cabs and you might find something you like :) I've been hitting up the spanish wines lately and they are pretty mild.

I still like the shiraz-cab blend I can get at the Bilo for under $10. Rodney Strong is another cab that's not too "oaky" to me that Wig turned me on to.

CT bought me a bottle of Inniskillin before he left but I made him take it back - too much $$$ for him to be spending.

I bought a couple of bottles of Jackson Trigg icewine this weekend.
Gave one as a gift and kept one.

Im saving my Innskillin tasting for the vineyard....Nick has promised to take me and Joe up there. I think it was his way of getting me to send his golf windbreaker!

The real problem is I have white wine taste buds and just keep trying to force myself to like red wine pretty much for medicinal and social reasons.

I'm quite happy with any number of White Zin's for instance...

But reds are proven to be much better at cleaning out the arteries....

Hell Puppy,
there are plenty of reds which you wouldn't tell for reds in the blind test with your eyes closed...
they are fruity like whites, less alchoholic, less taniny than Cabs and Merlots..
nothing wrong with drinking French reds.
The colder the climate where the grape is grown, the more easier one can mistake red for white

want some names?

Oregon Pinot's
2001 and 2002 I presume?

I'm guessing Oregon was just as dry as California in 2003.
