View Full Version : Living on borrowed time?

Since the tragedy of the Asian Tsunami, I have been taking a keen interest in this phenomena and was shocked to learn that an island, La Palma, part of the Canary Islands where I live, could be the cause of a ‘mega Tsunami’, which will effectively wipe out the entire east coast of the USA. As if we haven’t got enough to worry about! Has this been widely reported in the States?

We're all gonna die eventually.... Tsunami, terrorists, virus etc. all just some of the 1000s of possible causes of our future death.

Trick is to live&die without any big regrets, then it doesn´t matter when or what kills you B)

I think the trick is to be able to get a good warning system, and maybe not live directly on the beach????

my sister was trying to explain this to me the other day ... she's been following this for a few years ...

she said something about the entire east coast of usa lifting or dropping by an entire meter and the wave will come into the coast by a few hundred miles?!

Is it that our weather is genuinely getting scary, or that our technology can only now judge what's coming?

Seriously, it is the latter. All this has happened before, we now know. And knowing it has we can now understand and figure out what caused it and what could cause others and what the results would be.

Btw, all this talk (earthquakes, tsunamis, etc) always seems to remind me of Gene Hackman's Lux Luthor buying beachfront property in Nevada!!

"Otisburg!?" :biglaugh:

If you think the tsunami is bad you should look up yellowstone erupting. Could be next year, could be 1000 years, could be 100,000 years, but that baby will blow. The whole of NA is devastated then, and the rest of the world will be basically flung into "nuclear winter" like after effects.
