But it was well worth the $15 to buy it :)

If you havent seen it already do so, the ending is seriously fucked up and not expected at all :)

great flick, but I worry they are rushing the sequel out too fast....they are looking to have it out by Halloween and they haven't even hired a director yet...

I read a recent interview with the guys who wrote, starred (well one of them anyway) and directed the movie (a couple of australian guys fyi) ... they were talking about the sequal, and if they were involved how they would probably tell the story of jigsaw 'before' the events in the current saw movie.

But yeah, i know what you mean ... it feels like they are just rushing a sequal to captialize on the success of the first ...

A prequel to Saw would be awesome....

im not into these graphic thriller movies..they seem to try to hard to be gross or over the top disturbing.

Ths is the sort of thing that influences young minds...it is a sign of the times to come if the best minds with the biggest budgets can only resort to graphic violence to peddle some ticket stubs

Hey Brad... I know what you are saying but I'm not sure if Saw fits that category. I believe it was rated R, and although it was a bit bloody, I didn't judge it to be over the top gore for gore's sake.

i havent seen it myself, but from what i gather it is the idea of how it is setup that is the most disturbing. You can make a classic horror film with lots of gore and guts and blood and get my thumbs up.

You know speaking of the 'gore' factor...

I actually didnt find it 'bad' at all, in fact, to me it was actually lacking in the 'gore' factor LOL

Hardly big budget, it only cost 1.2 Million to make ... thats buggar all in movie terms ...

Originally it was going to just be a direct to dvd release, but it got alot of positive reviews to it was released in the cinema. That dosen't happen with a low budget horror movie unless its actually 'good'.

Carey Elwes and Danny Glover are in the "will try to act for food" phases of their careers.:)

Everytime I see Cary, I think to myself, "As you wish".

Anyways, I'm watching it right now. He just got the Cellphone out the box.

You tards wanna see a "fucked up movie"...

Check out Maniac (http://www.esplatter.com/reviewshton/maniac.htm). Do not watch this with kids around...it's fuckin' twisted and impressively graphic.

back on topic...
SAW was a great flick but definitely not one my kids will be watching any time soon (even I'M not that liberal with what they watch)
a true horror classic
That review of it though was one of the lamest reviews I've ever seen (and not just because he slagged off on the Maniac Cop series and really not even because he spoiled the ending nor even because he mispelled manequins ;-)). It seems to me that he didn't even watch the movie, rather just read some comments on imdb.com and decided to write a mini-review.....

"gore pornography" I love that phrase...will have to use it on my nearly completed script "Gutter Trash"

Just watched it last night and it wasn't nearly as fucked up as I thought it was. That was a damn nice twist at the end. :okthumb:

Gotta agree with you there. The only real gore is from the beginning of the movie that is a constant presence throughout. A tad more towards the end but not that bad.

I actually admire the "out of the box" type thinking that was done here. I mean, Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and Michael Myers are great and all but rather formulaic.

Tru but even that 'gore' wasnt bad imho, ive seen worse opening scenes in movies such as Private Ryan and that wasnt even a horror movie per say.

Yep its more your pshcological horror type movie than your run-of-the-mill blood guts and gore horror movie.

I gotta say, I found most of the bits outside of the room to be too formulatic and 'boring'.

I wish they had just stayed inside the room the whole movie almost, maybe have some flashbacks on how they got in there.

The whole danny glover storyline was unnesscary.

And if you dont believe a movie can be good in 'just one room', go rent 'cube'
