Some people get addicted to plastic surgery.

They tweak and tweak and tweak until they barely look human.

Wow - what a difference. Yeah, she used to be at all the shows a few years back - she looks nothing at all like what she used to. I mean, she was never drop dead gorgeous-gorgeous like some of the models/porn stars out there - but you're right, she's seen MUCH better days.

I'd read once that when people start getting "work done" they generally return each year for touch ups or to have new "work done" once they see how easily they heal, etc... However, the article said that a growing number of people now go back every 3-6 months... and some even more often - as often as the doctor will let them. *shudder*

Hell, I've been avoiding knee surgery for almost a year now for a miniscal tear - lol I can't imagine voluntarily going in and gettng THAT much work done - or the concept of getting addicted to it.

doctors like money, constant fact of the plastic surgery biz.

they get to pick which photos go in the before-after album. and if anyone who knows her asks....the chick "begged for the extra surgery....I told her not to".

just had that. it was nothing, off of it for a day or two, painkillers and ice.. stiches work themselves out, i popped mine out... took about a wqeek for the arthro holes to heal completely. rehab isnt too rough either, all depends on damage to your quad. the longer you let it go, the more yhour quad has to hold your kneecap in place, risking damage to the quad.

Ive been to 5 PT sessions post op for that one, and the difference you can feel immediately, the hardest part is gaining confidence in your meniscus to do its job, and of course, getting the blood effusion to diffuse.

Now the kneecap replacement and ACL/PCL tears ill reevaluate in 4 weeks to see if i want to go forward at this time. those require some lengthy rehab.

I blew out my ACL in high school. I hope to hell the therapy for that shit has evolved. If I had known any secrets while going thru that, the therapist could've asked me anything and I would've spilled my guts....

It heals up tight. Back in the day when it healed up, you had to stretch it and loosen it to regain the flex in your knee. Every new degree of bend you gained in that knee was a world class pain.

I swear, sitting there on that therapy table with 20-30 pounds of ankle weights strapped on and the therapist telling me we need to go down one more inch today. If she had offered me the option of just taking one good kick to the nuts and going home, I would've probably taken the nut shot.

This predates arthoscopic treatment though, so I would hope it's a bit more humane now.

yeah same stuff, lifting weight and the inverse, one flip of a knob and your being strethed like hell.. they still measure the radius, and every point of extension or retraction is tough to get. they still use the straps, where you loop it over your foot and pull over your shoulder until your foot touches your lower back.. the stretching hurts more than the resistance lifting, bike, et.

but the quad stim and ice at the end feels so good you want to have a cigarette with it:)
