Star Trek: Enterprise will come to an end following the airing of an as yet untitled series finale on May the 13th, 2005.

UPN and Paramount today jointly announced the show's cancellation.

Enterprise only barely qualified for renewal a year ago, but was given a final chance by UPN to prove itself after Paramount agreed to drastically cut the show's license fee. The show underwent several major changes this year, including a move from Wednesday night to Friday and the appointment of new showrunner Manny Coto, but the most important thing didn't change - the show's low ratings. Last week, "Babel One" set a new series low for Enterprise, attracting just over 2.5 million viewers.

No official details have yet been released for the final episode of the series, beyond the fact it will be written by Enterprise creators Rick Berman and Brannon Braga. Recently, Paramount was rumoured to be in negotiations with Jonathan Frakes (William T. Riker) and Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi) for a guest appearance on the final episode (story), although Sirtis has since denied this (story).

Although UPN has now officially decided to not bring back Enterprise for a fifth season, two fan campaigns are still working to try and change the network's mind. SaveEnterprise.com and the Enterprise Project have combined to form EnterpriseFans.com, an organisation trying to raise money to promote Enterprise with an ad in USA Today.

Those fucktards won't get a second of time from my eyeballs once Enteprise is over. Those bastrads didn't support the show at all.

God damn right I'm pissed off. Fired off a letter to the network about it already. Those fuckers won't get a second of eyeball time from me after the show ends.

I'm just royally pissed cause those fuckers never even promoted the show. Everything else they put on air would get promoted but Enterprise and yet the show, despite those fucktards inept business practices, was one of the networks highest rated shows. Here's hoping another network picks it up and runs with it.

This is terrible news. You're right that the network didn't support the show at all. Maybe a fan campaign will do something. I just told my fiance about this thread and he just fired off a letter to UPN. I don't want to say we're big Trek fans, BUT we are getting married on the bridge of the Enterprise at the Star Trek Experience in Vegas, with the reception being at Quarks bar. :D

Cool. Congratulations and tell your hubby thanks for firing off the letter. Les Moonvees needs to be fired. He's the idiot who basically is doing this.

Man, that sucks... I have been primarily a TNG fan, but I know TE is a huge fan of the other shows. I'm sorry to hear that. :-(

And I agree, they didn't give the show any promotion at all. I think they figured Trekkers would simply find it...

The shark should have thrusters on the sides and a photon torpedo launcher on it's back! :nyanya:

last year when they were going to pull it they got a lot of flack and ended up keeping it on. I doubt that will happen this time but maybe a cable station like the sci fi channel will pick it up.

I agree they did a poor job of advertising the show.

I know we want to say the the tv execs are idiot but truth be told the majority of viewer are idiots that is why most good shows get axed before the stupid ass shallow shows

Unfortunately that fucktard Les Moonvees not only is in charge of UPN but Paramount as well so the chances of it getting shopped to another network is slim. :(

Mind reader! :)

Seriously, folks. All of you (and your friends and friends of friends) who are mounting this campaign ...

You are wasting your time!

If you want to do something that makes things COUNT ... mount a campaign with the SciFi Channel to pick it up! That is your only chance.

Anything else will be a futile waste of a massive amount of time, energy, and potential.

I really liked Enterprise when it first came on.

I thought it got cancelled a while ago.

Really bad promotion by UPN.

It's a damn shame.

I wouldn't even had know that it was still being produced if my TiVo hadn't recorded it.

I watch very little TV and didn't think it was that great but I did enjoy watching it, just isn't that much good Sci-fi on.

Speaking of Sci-fi… I'm really enjoying the new Battlestar Galactica, hated the original series.

I'm so-so about the new Gallactica. The dream sequences with Baltar are just very weird and abrupt to everything else for one. They can have space ships with lasers but they use an old intercom system (and other relics) is also weird. Kinda tired of the shaking camera meets the Batmanesque-tilted-camera angles too. (Always waiting for The Joker to appear in the scene!!)

Andromeda ... I just never know what the hell is with that show or where it's going. And it seems like the writers and producers have no clue either. Every episode is a mystery and at the end of each the more that's explained the more you find out you didn't care to start with.

The two Stargates are the best SF on the tube these days, IMHO.

They have old wired stuff because this way the Cylons can't mess with it. This was explained in the original mini series. If you didn't watch the original mini series I think a lot would be very confusing. I like really like how they have more then one plot going on. The Cylon implanted in his head does remind me of FarScape with Scorpion in whatever his name was head. I liked FarScape actually.

I don't really like Stargate but will sometimes watch it in desperation for something to watch. I just can't watch the new Stargate at all.

I find Andromeda unwatchable.

Dravyk

"Ahh" on the old intercomm thing.

Farscape was enjoyable. Too bad they didn't keep it on. That said, at least was very happy they got to do the four-hour "finish" this summer.

No, not really. I didn't like Firefly when it debuted on Fox. Admittedly I like most Sci-Fi but certainly not all of it.

Took them until today to respond to my e-mail. Here is the very "form letter" sounding response I got from the fucktards:

Hello,

Thank you for writing to UPN. The STAR TREK legacy has spanned nearly four decades and has spawned five television series. Ten years ago, STAR TREK: VOYAGER was instrumental in helping launch UPN.

The latest incarnation, STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE, has reached the culmination of its journey. This painstaking decision came after it was recognized that despite having many loyal fans like you, the audience for the show was declining steadily. Therefore, ENTERPRISE is set to decommission and will be given a grand send-off on Friday, May 13th at 8 PM ET/PT on UPN.

This does not mean that STAR TREK is gone forever. Paramount, the studio that produced all five television series and ten feature films, is looking forward to the next chapter of the STAR TREK saga.

We know that this information may not make you feel any better but we want you to know how much we appreciate your input and we sincerely hope that you will continue to share your thoughts with us in the future.

Cordially,
