I'm going on my sixth year of business in the online adult industry. I haven't worked with Cybersocket, Bedfellow, or Lee.

I posted on Lee's board quite frequently ( 8 post a day average in my profile ) for quite a few months. I'm still a member of Lees board, though I don't post as much anymore. When I started a new program and my rep made a post to the general discussion part of Lee's board ( like many other non sponsors do ), Lee immediately moved it to the Spam section of his site, while other non sponsors of his site were, and still are, free to spam programs, sites etc. in the general discussion part of Lee's site. Yes we know it's Lee's board and he'll do what he pleases on his board. Lee has been accused by two different designers of not paying them, and didn't Lee admit to not paying them?

Cybersocket and Bedfellow have never responded to my reps attempts to work with them. They have been accused by Lee as being associated with the "Gay Mafia" which shut out companies that want to work with them and creating industry "cliques", making it hard for guys like me to get ahead in the industry Source (http://forums.gaywidewebmasters.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7322&perpage=15&highlight=gay%20mafia&pagenumber=2)

Lee's never done me any favors, neither has Cybersocket or Bedfellow. On the other hand the guys at Amateurstraightguys and JustUsBoys have always been great to work with, very approachable, and always come through.

I think Lee & Gary might have their own "cliques" on their board, as well as in business, and act in the same manner that Lee accuses Cybersocket and Bedfellow of. After all isn't it ok to decide who you do and don't want to do business with?

While Lee doesn't seem to have near the level of success, or past level of support, that Cybersocket and Bedfellow do, you would think they could do business as professionals and not have bad talking from Lee and negative posts on Lee's board from the other side. Are you guys in online porn to make money or cause drama and conflict?

NOTE: I would have posted this on your board Lee but, as you know, we can't discuss Cybersocket and Bedfellow on your board without you editing names and locking the threads.

I just call it like it is :yowsa: I'm not taking sides in this because I don't know the history of Cybersocket & Bedfellow. I know my experience with Lee and his board but the people at Cybersocket & Bedfellow could be worse, or a hell of a lot better, I don't know.

There is more then enough business, and money, to go around in our industry. Who cares if events at shows overlap, big deal. Just move on, network, and have a blast! It's not about who has the "most events" or biggest and best parties, it's about who does the best buisiness, it's about who has integrity and makes the most money with those they work with. That's my .00002 cents worth :bdance:

But what is your point, Squirt?

Why'd you come over to Oprano to post stuff about another board? Because the other board won't 'let' you?

I'm sorry. I don't get it.

Well... the other board has banned all of it's members from discussing the two companies. When they do, the names of the two companies are ***** out and the thread is locked.

Lee posted here about the situation:

http://www.oprano.com/msgboard/index.php?s...5971&hl=banning (http://www.oprano.com/msgboard/index.php?showtopic=15971&hl=banning)

http://www.oprano.com/msgboard/index.php?s...=15691&hl=drama (http://www.oprano.com/msgboard/index.php?showtopic=15691&hl=drama)

A LOT of people complained about this policy of censoring discussion on a public board:

http://forums.gaywidewebmasters.com/showth...=&threadid=7485 (http://forums.gaywidewebmasters.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7485)

The main conflict was started because of what was said in this thread: http://forums.gaywidewebmasters.com/showth...=&threadid=7322 (http://forums.gaywidewebmasters.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7322)

What's your opinion?

Nickatilynx

Its really simple.

If you don't like Lee's board , don't post there.

If you think you can run a Gay Webmaster Board better , open one.

Hell We will open a Gay Section of Oprano.

Get a crew together , run it and we'll split the profits?

What do you say?

Serious offer....

But I doubt you'll take me up on it...

Good points Nick, and as a matter of fact http://www.triplexgay.com/ just opened today. Some very well connected guys started it up to have a relaxed place where people can do good business, get help, etc. without worring about administation issues.

The Gay community needs a good board where they can do business and Oprano has always been a great place to come and hang out. I think a Gay section on Oprano is a kick ass idea. Give me until Monday to ask around and see what I can do ok?

And for the record I love the people on Lee's board.. a lot of great folks posting there, though it seems a lot less since the recent drama went down. :barfon:

Squirt - welcome to Oprano

But they are not public boards
The are businesses, ran as the owners/oprators see fit. They are run for profit, not by some goverment for open access

I for one would like to hear more about and understand

a) the "Gay Mafia"

b) the division of cliques in the gay webmaster world ... who stands where (and why)

c) the part were certain gay companies apparently will only work with webmasters who are gay, but not with straight webmasters with gay sites, traffic, etc. ... who are they? what is there problem?

Serious question. Can you spread some light on this?

"Squirt - welcome to Oprano"

Thanks Vick! I think I remember you saying that back in 2003 when I became a member of Oprano.. but thanks again :)

"But they are not public boards The are businesses, ran as the owners/oprators see fit. They are run for profit, not by some goverment for open access"

Yeah some boards are run for profit and used to make money for the owners and there's nothing wrong with that. When people log onto a board to communicate, and they are censored, etc. etc. they will just go somewhere else where they can communicate freely. It's not a big deal. I like the general guidelines (http://www.oprano.com/msgboard/index.php?act=boardrules) on Oprano.. short and to the point :okthumb:

The links I gave you are the only information I have on those topics.

I've been in this business almost 6 years now and I haven't experienced any of those things.

A) I've never heard the term "Gay mafia" except for the link I gave here to Lee's comments on his board.

B) I don't know who the "cliques" are and why they are, or if they even exist. That was a comment Lee made on his board and I put the link here to his post.

C) I don't know any companies that will work only with other Gay webmasters. Again, that was a comment Lee made on his board and I put a link to that post earlier in this thread. I work with anyone that's reliable, not a crook and I can make money with :bjump:

SO I guess that means Lee can answer all three of your questions. Sorry I don't have more info for you.

I was looking for that thread! I was following that discussion for a while. Kimmy that thread " Is Immitation Really The Best Form Of Flattery?, Or Proof That Times Are Hard?" was Lee saying these guys copied him. Then someone brought up that he didn't pay Bluedesign Studios, then another designer came on and said he wasn't paid as well. Everything got muddled up.

The Cybersocket and Bedfellow press release (http://www.avnonline.com/index.php?Primary_Navigation=Web_Exclusive_News&Action=View_Article&Content_ID=214819) yesterday is what prompted this thread.

When I started a new program and my rep made a post to the general discussion part of Lee's board ( like many other non sponsors do ), Lee immediately moved it to the Spam section of his site

Because it was, strangely enough, a spam, made by a community member who strangely enough, only posts spam for the most part and, who strangely enough, we have received more complaints about 'scamming' companies than any other single person on GWW.

while other non sponsors of his site were, and still are, free to spam programs, sites etc. in the general discussion part of Lee's site.

True, primarily we allow sponsors to post their news and announcements on the general forum of GWW when it has been pre-arranged that they will do so and, we even make those threads sticky for them.

Lee's never done me any favors, neither has Cybersocket or Bedfellow. On the other hand the guys at Amateurstraightguys and JustUsBoys have always been great to work with, very approachable, and always come through.

Im not in 'business' to do 'favors' for people Squirt ;)

Just seems to me you are pissed we moved your spam post LOL

You should watch out.. you might get banned ;) LMAO

I said this to Lee elsewhere a while back....

If you have to ask who is the "in crowd" you are not part of it.

I always say that in-crowd exists wherever I happen to be at the time.

As an aside.....

Australian Porn Mafia ....

Gay Mafia....

Oprano Family.....

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ah aha ha ah.

Most webmasters, let alone the 1000's of webhamsters (thanks again Vick), would be flat out organizing a fuck in a brothel with a handful of hundreds let alone organizing some sort of conspiracy.

The truth is out there Scully.

The CYBERSOCKET and BEDFELLOW press release (http://www.avnonline.com/index.php?Primary_Navigation=Web_Exclusive_News&Action=View_Article&Content_ID=214819) went out two days ago.

Because it was, strangely enough, a spam, made by a community member who strangely enough, only posts spam for the most part and, who strangely enough, we have received more complaints about 'scamming' companies than any other single person on GWW.

Well Lee, in all honesty, and don't think I'm taking sides or putting you down in any way, you are the one who has hired two companies and refused to pay them for their work, and admitting publicly that you're not paying them. Maybe you have an inability to express yourself effectively that causes creation difficulties with designers?

I'm not sure why you are now implicating ReAxsis Media in scamming companies. I hired them partly because of the enthusiasm you showed on your site for the company AND it's employees LOL ... one thread you started for one of the partners recently is titled "Please Join Me In Welcoming DrewG Back To GWW"!

http://forums.gaywidewebmasters.com/showth...ghlight=reaxsis (http://forums.gaywidewebmasters.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6481&highlight=reaxsis)

http://forums.gaywidewebmasters.com/showth...ghlight=reaxsis (http://forums.gaywidewebmasters.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6478&highlight=reaxsis)

http://forums.gaywidewebmasters.com/showth...ghlight=reaxsis (http://forums.gaywidewebmasters.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6137&highlight=reaxsis)

So how can anyone trust you when you don't pay people you hire, and you say one thing, then back flip and implement a company you endorse on your site with "many complaints" and fraud?

I think you're just defensive because they are part of the group that started the new board competing with you two days ago http://www.triplexgay.com The names of the companies posting their speak for themselves.

"while other non sponsors of his site were, and still are, free to spam programs, sites etc. in the general discussion part of Lee's site."

True, primarily we allow sponsors to post their news...

Yes you Primarily allow sponsors, which means you allow non sponsors to do that as well. You are a tricky one with your wording Mr.!

Just seems to me you are pissed we moved your spam post

Nah it's not a big deal and this is all in good fun. I'm just calling you on your shit, just as you would me :P
