Someone besides me must have loved this movie as a kid.
Bryan Singer, director of X-Men 1 & 2 and The Usual Suspects has agreed to develop and direct a remake of Logan's Run.

I liked it as a kid. Though even then it seems rather hackneyed. That said, I can also imagine a remake with more grit and less cutsy would be a great improvement on the original.
Still one of the only PG movies to have brief nudity in it! Mmm. Jenny Agutter. :groucho:

I liked that movie as well. A remake probably won't break any box office records, but I'm sure it will be entertaining.
Example, The Time Machine. I'm a big fan of the original, and the re-make was pretty good too.
Yup!
Someone I know in the biz told me about that weeks ago.
Logan's Run was one of those silly sci-fi films that stuck with you for some reason. I liked it as a kid. It wasn't quite "right" but was interesting all the same.
I hope the remake does justice to the story.

It's a cool story. Just done in that hokey 70s sorta way.

I love that movie. I have mixed feeling on remaking what I consider classics. They really fucked up PLanet of the Apes. There is no need remaking some. I hope they do a good job with it.

Singer is also the writer, and sometimes director of the show "House" on fox. Needless to say, its a pretty slick show..
he also did both xmen movies.
remaking logans run would be awesome.

Logans's Run is one of my all time faves. Who as a kid wanted to shoot old people floating in the sky with a high powered gun?

Er, you all realize that by the schema of Logan's Run, most of us would be dead by now. :(
... And Grimm's palm would be blinking! :)

I've only read "American Psycho". I probably only read one fiction book a year. I can't remember why I read "American Psycho". Maybe it was something Nick said. Or did.

if you liked his writing style, the other books are fast reads. like watching a movie after being lit up for 2 hours and running on a treadmill.

Does pretty good have a different meaning in Canada ? I was very let down by Time Machine.
Logans Run remake will be interesting, but I am always wary of remakes.

I really enjoyed the short story. I liked the movie. I didn't love it because I had read the story before seeing the movie.
I hope they do a better job with the remake. While Michael York was an okay choice, I wonder who they will choose to play his role.
Course, I would bet it's not easy turning a very short story into a two hour movie. What was it? I can't remember how long the actual story, The Lottery, was....and why couldn't they just call it by the real title? I never quite 'got' that.
