They all suck. But I voted for Phil Simms. Listening to him makes me want to shove sharpened pencils in my ears.

It was a close race between Collinsworth and Joe Buck. Joe Buck ended up winning out. I can't stand any of them however.

Does it make you wonder who likes them? why they keep their jobs? Who at CBS especially, watches the pregame and game and says "now thats good sports commentary". what the fuck is wrong with these people?

And where in the fuck did Greg Gumble get in there? That hair man. I do however like the Fox pregame guys. Terry, Howie and James. They are pretty funny now that CC is gone.

Jack Buck is spinning in his grave at what his son has become. Fox's pimp.

Fox guys are ok pregame, but ill take Boomer and TJ over them any day. I can even stand Jaws, even though he is annoying, at least he knows the X's and O's.
Joe Buck is a baseball anouncer who belongs in a market..uhhh..like St Louis. stay there. he doesn't know jack shit about football.
cant stand collinsworth.. never passes up an opportunity to bash the bengals, even though they made him and he went to a super bowl with them. never understood that. he retired a bengal. and he knows very little about the actual rules of the game, he is wrong more than he is right. Says something when you played for 14 years or so and YOU are the color guy, while the baseball jackass is the main commentator.

This poll's fixed. I voted for Simms as well, but it says only 1 for Simms there. Huh?
Take it a step further
Collinsworth writes a column for NFL.com, some weeks it almost approaches OK
Remember Collinsworth is who got kicked out of the Fox pregame show for Jimmy Johnson
What does that say?
I'll go with Fox having the best pregame show
From where I sit the jury is still out on Boomer even if he did play at U of Maryland

yeah ive read the column, about as annoying as the sports guys column (whines about boston sports. a world series and a football dynasty.. what, the bruins upsetting you because they arent playing?:))
I like TJ.. he knows the real deal, and he was a hell of a player, both college (Louisville) and pro (Broncos).
Jimmy "Hair" Johnson is a joke, he literally reminds me of the pillsbury doughboy, not because of weight or anything, its just that face and that stupid smile he always has on it. For gods sake if you have to have a jackass on there, go back to jerry glanville, at least he was amusing:)

People must like tired old cliches. They are comforting, I guess. I'd rather listen to Dennis Miller saying weird shit.

I like the ESPN crew alright... but I have to say I dont find any of the pregame show, or game crew exceptional...
Steve Young does alright, TJ and Berman too.... cant stand Irvin, or shannon sharpe or dan "Im so great" Marino
Here is a very good article on the subject by an old-school guy:

you and me both. I love Dennis Miller. When he was on MNF it was interesting. I epsecially liked how Dan Fouts laughed at every one of his jokes, no matter what, like it was on the teleprompter:) Deirdorf and Fouts should be force to do the AFL, or NFL Europe.
Chris Collinsworth makes my ears bleed.
But if I have to listen to John Madden say the name Brett Favre one more motherfucking time I think I'll go postal.
