So, Brian Glazer is showing his a new documentary he produced, at Sundance, "Inside Deep Throat" a documentary on how that movie changed America's perception of sex and porn.
Interesting that Hollywood will make movies about the porn industry (Hardcore, Boogie Nights, Wonderland, etc.) yet porn stars are treated like the plague and only allowed cameos in mainstream films (even Ron jeremy is pretty much often just cast as a novelty).
While I understand that most porn actresses lack the acting chromosome, I remember Burt Renyolds told a porn stud on the set of Boogie Nights that he (the porn actor) was "damaged goods" because he did a porn film...
I find the Hollywood double standard interesting...
This documentary even has "graphic oral sex footage".

wonderland wasnt about the porn industry. it was about whether john holmes did or didnt have anything to do with the wonderland murders. Reviewing all evidence it is fairly obvious he did.
and that movie took place after he was out of the porn industry, and before he died. During the strung out pathetic weakling period of his life.
I dont think that hollywood has any interest in porn per se, just its effect on american culture. just as it does with any dirty little secret, be it porn, drug use, infidelity, etc. Just look at all the drug use in movies.. makes them "edgy", and edgy sells. same goes with porn.
PT Anderson, who made "Boogie Nights" on a shoestring budget, made it as an indie film, It just steamrolled after Mirimax got involved.
Face it, you and I both know that people like porn. Billions of dollars are spent on porn. so obviously there is going to be a movie or two made about the subject. :)

I for one liked the movie wonderland. Val Kilmer did a bang up job showing the side of Johnny Wad that no American Male in that day would have believed. That he could be a bisexual, impotent, drug addicted pusher on the verge of nothingness. kind of taking the american black knight hero and reducing him to lower than the men that held him in esteem.

true, but it seems Hollywood loves it's porn but just won't admit it ;-)
could you imagine Julia Roberts attending the Oscars with Ron Jeremy or Peter North on her arm?
Have you seen "Rated X" with Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez? They played the Mitchell brothers, who produced "Behind The Green Door". Probably my favorite porn-tinged movie outside of "Orgazmo".

oops, typo
hahaha
um, reading Thora's bio though...does that make anyone who enjoyed her scenes a pedo since she was only 16 at the time of filming?
sorry, this would probably be a GFY argument ;-)
it is an interesting issue though
if you had a celeb site and pocted pictures of her as a bare breasted 16 year old, are there legal ramifications in the same way as if I went to a mall, picked up a 16 year old and had her whip out the boobs and take pics....
ah, but that's an issue for another thread...

yeah, good point. It was non sexualized. her character was 16, i always thought she was 18 when that was filmed.. born in 82 or so.. movie started production in 1999, thats cutting it close.. although i dont know if there is a national law on teenage nudity. I know age of consent is a states rights issue..
I think the rule of thumb is that if teenage nudity is not used in a sexual manner, it is acceptable. But i like that movie, and i thought that scene, though not physically sexual, was pretty sexual nonetheless.
