Well before 9/11, I had determined that the Red Cross paid itself far better than it donated the proceeds to the victims of tragic events.

That was proven to me during 9/11 when many of the victims did not receive the 'goods', whether it was money or counseling or food or whatever.

Their exposure on Bill O'Reilly (think what you like; but he did expose them) brought it home for me.

So. When this horrific event occurred, we donated our money to Robb from Camz.com and every dime went to villagers. It wasn't much; but we saw where our money went and we were able to gain a tiny bit of satisfaction that real help was offered.

While I accept the fact that charitable organisations have back end costs, the Red Cross seems to have a much higher percentage of administration expenses than others....

I wish it weren't that way; but, it is.

No shit - THAT'S the type of donating I respect. And he never felt any need to let everyone know how great he was either. :rokk:

total class

I know that word gets thrown around a lot, but what he did is truly a class act and shows if one person can do that, imagine what many can do...

I agree.

In some cases, those are the only words to use.

Class Act.

When I read that accounting from Robb, I was so touched. Knowing that every dime helped and that one of our own was doing this really brought it home.

I whine about hotels not moving fast enough for my room service and Robb is over there in a truck seeing devastation the likes of which I don't want to see in my own nightmares.
