Do you have a set criteria you use or anything?
Im having a really hard time finding a name that i like and one that the domain is available to register :(

One that tells people right away what you are trying to convey.
We're CONTENT! (for example)
Yeah we have a domain for the site which tells people what the store is selling but i need to get a new company name setup for all of our media related business ventures and its proving more difficult than i first thought lol

allourmedia.com :-P
Haha.
I was looking for something marketable / brandable too hehe.
So we could have sites like 'brand'store, 'brand'studios, 'brand'modelling etc etc

I named mine Online Beach because I was planning on moving to the beach and working online. I'm so clever :P
I also co-owned Byte Me for a bit and Georgia Recreational Surfaces when I was married.
IOW, I have no advice for naming companies but I'm really bad at it.

Do you still like the beach? I thought GA mountains were your first choice.

It almost smacks of checking to see whether the domain name is available first, before deciding upon a physical name. You could try directnic.com and see what names are available and try a few keywords?

Noooo! The Outer Banks were my first choice. I love it there. Problem is that it's becoming WAY too crowded and being barrier islands, they are always in harm's way. Having a second home there when the hurricanes and noreasters hit is one thing, but it being your home with your personal effects freaked me out a bit. And traffic jams are horrendous during on season.
I also love the mountains though so I moved here and vacation at the OB whenever I can - during off season when I can have the beach largely to myself :) But I wouldn't have moved here if I hadn't been able to live on the water. I love the water!

Lee,
Post some more specifics on company or PM them and can take a shot... Found one five letter domain available that is double entendre but could look innocent enough depending on presentation.

Small world. I lived in Hatteras for a while Peaches. Dishwasher and prepcook at the Froggy Dog in Avon. I was an official "implant" there once I spent my first winter where all the stores close down at 5 pm. If you don't have your beer or cigs at that point...you better hope you got some good friends lol. Different world down there for sure.

Take the most popular company out there and add an "S" to their name and BINGO!
You are sure to get a lot of attention that way :D

Very difficult to find a cool company name that also has its .com version left on the net. You may have to go to a .biz domain, or use some basterdization of the name.
I have a great name for my new traffic company, but the domain for the company was take. Which was crazy because I thought it was pretty unique. I may offer to buy the domain. Though honestly, I have 1,000 domains - I can use something else in a pinch.

Yes, one of my first years there I needed some, ahem, feminine products and went to buy them after dinner. Nope. :( I learned to plan better after that.
I do love it when there's no one there though. I'm the one on the beach in 40 degree weather with the wind whipping, wrapped up in coats and blankets, reading a book and happier than a pig in shit :)

Oh absolutely. Plus the community is much tighter knit in the winter. Everyone looks out for everyone else. Also, there is a keg party just about every night lol.

I go with the "name your company after the product you sell"..
Just put in a request and Cum Garling Ass Pounded Bitches Limited should be ready this week :)
OK , I've always used a mixture...
Taffic Inc.
Whitcon
and of course simply a number like 562997 BC Ltd or whatever :)

One of my mainstream friends named mine....
They always used to laugh and say.... "So how goes the Evil Empire?"
It was fun getting the name reservation from the Sec of State to Inc.
Just a quick update..
Found a new company name today and its currently being setup as its own corporate entity :)
Red Bag Productions (http://www.redbagproductions.com)
Thanks for all the suggestions and advice too gang :)

It's a matter of picking what's available for me.
I gotta have the ".com" for the corporation, so search starts with finding a cool name that has the ".com" also available.
If that's available, then it's time to check with secretary of state to see if anyone else is also using it.
