Never got involved with AVS. People still making a lot of money, besides the AVS owners themselves of course?
Colin,
We have a couple of community members on GWW that earn in excess of 8k a month doing AVS stuff part time.
One of the guys is about to quit his dayjob and go full time to so i would say yes, there is still money to be made.
That said, i know about 2k of that 8k he makes is spent on content, hosting, traffic purchases etc so he probably clears 6k a month.

On another board, someone posted "Adultcheck made at least 50 webmasters millionaires in its time.". Any comments?

Many times over for me.
In 1997 I had a "Eureka" moment.
What can I get a link on with no recip.
Adultcheck!
Hell PLUS everyone browsibng that list has used a CC to buy porn!
Perfect! :)
At one point a vast percentage of the links on the Adult check list were mine :)
It was awesome 800 plus sites each generating at least 1-2 sales a month.
It was brilliant!!!
Then I told Meat ,GG and Tommy of the "AVS Trick" and Meat literally told everyone. LOL
Other people when they have read this story before have said "Oh yeah , Meat told us"
heather of course bitched and said no one was buying Adultcheck memberships.
I told her that not the point. Its the upsells.
Made a fortune from Scottpb.
It actually was the foundation for my empire before SEO and mail.
And Yes , I claim the invention of that "trick"
:)
Back then content wasn't expensive cause I used all the Zmaster pics. :)

Nick,
I once wrote an article for Klixxx detailing how I was making money with Dmoz. Shot myself in the fucking foot. I overestimated the size of the market.

AVS is dead...free sites and galleries are where the money is.
Move along now.
