It's in the 30's here - FINALLY the winter came! The few bulbs the critters hadn't dug up were trying to bloom in Jan, lol!

Got my fireplace on and I'm happy :)

Well the strange thing is, everyone around here that actually knows me cant beleive how long it took me to acclimatize to the weather system.

Within about 2 months of being here (4 1/2 years ago) i stopped wearing shorts 24/7 and opted to wear pants in the daytime when the temp dropped below 70 degrees lol

It's 57 right now in Tampa. It's not bad as long as the sun is out, and you are in it. But once sun goes away, its cold!!

Hopefully the cold front will move away soon!

I saw on CNN this morning that it was -54 below in Embarrass, Minnesota (found the link too - http://www.cnn.com/2005/WEATHER/01/17/cold....ap/index.html) (http://www.cnn.com/2005/WEATHER/01/17/cold.weather.ap/index.html)).

I feel sorta bad because we complained all day that it hit 75 and we were getting jipped on our "winter" season. lol

Can you IMAGINE -54?!? No frigging way. I'll keep my earthquakes, floods and mudslides thank you very much!

One Day when I was at Ohio State, they closed school.. first day on record in 25 years. The temperature was -22, with wind chills far below that, and we got 2 feet of snow. It was back open the next day.

Coldest day ive ever been outside for a lengthy amount of time was the 1981 AFC championship game. i was only 5 going on 6. The freeze Bowl:)

31% humidity is VERY, VERY low for us. We are as bad as FL during the spring/summer/fall.

When I spent a week in CA last summer and walked out of the ATL airport coming home, the actual weight of the air was so measurable being out of it for so long. I also have to replace several items every year in the house because I refuse to shut my windows and turn the AC on to keep it dry B)

cj
01-18-2005, 10:11 AM
i don't blame you for avoiding the ac
i've tried to use mine as little as possible this year and keep the windows open to catch the natural breeze

but i've also been working a lot in bikini's to compensate :biglaugh:

Yes, we say "way up North" but I can't tell you how many people have come up to me in California and ask, "Hey you're from Ohio... do you know [enter first name here]?" You know - like Ohio is just so damned small that we know everyone - of course they probably think we're all related too......

Next time someone asks, "Do you know Bob?" I'm going to answer, "Yeah, he's a real asshole, isn't he?" and just walk away. lol

I know SW Ohio area a little... my favorite cousins all live in Mason... we used to watch Snoopy & the Red Baron fly over from that amusement park over there from their backyard when I was little.
