This one certainly isn't over........

Mannings early throws were catachable - the receivers just had to get used to the cold.

But, looks like the weather is getting pretty miserable - hate to see a game like that, where the weather & 'the breaks decide the game instead of the players skills.

I think it should be mandatory for the playoffs to be weather free..
indoors or held in areas with good weather
every fucking year someone gets robbed cause of the weather, ( that is not football in the 21st century imho)

Poor Peyton. He's gonna end up beside Marino in a broadcasters seat with no ring...just like Dan.

The Patriots always play better in the second half. Play as hard the last snaop as they do the first snap. Disciplined and well coached.

Man, every year its said, and every year it happens.. teams like the colts, chiefs, etc spend their money on offense, when its the defenses that win the championships.

hes got 1 playmaker on the defensive side of the ball. Its hard to win when you have to abandon the running game.. the PAtriots were lining up with 2 down linemen at times, and still getting pressure on them. And their secondary was disciplined. The DB's stayed in their zones and switched off, did not give up the big play, tackled better than any team ive seen thus far in the playoffs. MAnning had a decent game.. 260 or so yards passing... just no yards after the catch, somedropped balls and forced turnovers. 1 man cannot win a game.

i stand on the opposite side. I think domed stadiums are the downfall of football. When you build your team around an indoor stadium, you dont go all the way. The exception being the Rams, who went all the way because they had homefiled advantage and the superbowl was indoors. a complete anomaly. put them outdoors and they show up like the vikings and colts today.

However... put an outdoor team indoors, and it makes no difference. a level playing field for the most part. they dont lose any advantage. the pats beat them in the warm weather as well.

All of the colts losses were on the road, in outdoor stadiums.

the vikings won one what, 2 games outdoors, to the texans in OT(wait, was the roof closed?), and the lions?

The Rams...at san fran and at seattle were their only outdoor wins... so your dome teams on average, win 2 out of the 8 road games that are not in domed stadiums per year.

and this is not counting the 2 or 3 dome teams that didnt make the playoffs.

The obvious exception would be the falcons, but they are the oddity.. an indoor team that features the run. so they can win on the road, outside.

So we should adapt the NFL to accomodate those teams? what about the other 27 or so teams that do just fine in the regular season and the playoffs:) and ..win superbowls:)

Watching a live football game indoors does not compare to watching one outside. The weather has been part of football since the league began. Ill watch a Bengals game outside over a Colts game indoors every time. and ive lived in both cities.

Games in the superdome do not compare to games in outdoor stadiums.

Its a game played outdoors with a funny shaped ball that turns stone in the cold and bounces unpredictably. thats the way it should be.

I also live in new orleans now, and still go home to ohio to watch games. If im in town, ill go to the game, because i love live sports, but if they ever build a new stadium, i hope it is open. and dont give me that heat crap, the florida teams play ourdoors and i guarantee its nice and hot in miami and tampa:)

one more thing, i went to see a baseball game in houston when i was there for a wedding. and when they closed the roof, it took so much away from the game. It felt like watching baseball in a tin can. no summer breeze, no sun. just boring.

I'm with you. Weather is part of the game!! Why home field advantage is so important.

Colts would have done better in a dome.

I was thinking about T as well. ATL looks good. Though lets face it, the Rams stink.

With Vick, ATL can win any game at anytime.... even against a better team.

2 more games.

I stand by the run, naturally. its a pretty solid matchup offensively. Defensively, the Eagles secondary is amazingly effective at shutting down the run. But Atlanta's front four are some studs.

Now granted, McNabb is a whole 'nother animal than bulger. Contain is going to be rough.

Home field, great defense, solid, but not great offense. I think the Eagles hold a distinct advantage over the Falcons. That doesnt mean the Falcons can't pull the upset, but it will be like running uphill.

The advantage has to go to New England, even though the steelers are at home. The Defense is enough to make it a rough day for Roethlesburger. amd track record shows that Tom Brady has never lost a playoff game. I think it will be close, but i couldnt bet against the Patriots in the playoffs. This game is going to be a 10-7 ish game.

Maybe we will get something besides a blowout in the championship games:)

Damn right. I can't imagine not having a stadium like Lambeau Field to watch my beloved Packers in. Rain, wind, snow, cold or whatever I'll enjoy sitting at Lambeau Field watching the Packers. Hell, last year I went to a pre-season game and it got delayed for over two hours because of severe lightning and rain in tha area. My sister was completely loaded and wanted to leave and I refused. I was like "We're at Lambeau Field and they are gonna restart this game eventually, we are not leaving!" and we stayed until they restarted and watched the rest of the game.

There is something great and special about the experience of watching a game at Lambeau that only a few stadiums, be they in football or baseball, really truly have. Not a single one of them is a domed stadium.

The Superbowl should be played in Green Bay every year.

Playoff games should be no further south than Chicago or Buffalo.

As much as I love the Rams, I hate arena football - and domes are just big versions of the same.

If you play an outdoor sport, you should be able to play it in all kinds of weather.

I'm just glad to see what are probably the 4 best teams playing for a chance at the Super Bowl this year. To handicap it a little bit...

NE vs. Pittsburgh -- sentimental favorite for me is Steelers. Have always been a fan dating back to the dominant teams of the late 70's. NE gets an edge on experience though.

Atlanta vs. Philly -- I like this match up. I'm biased toward the falcons, but I think this will be a good game. The Falcons have flown under the radar of the entire NFL for the whole season until Saturday night. Everyone knows about Vick, but this game could end up having a score of like 6-3 if the weather is bad. The Falcons D is fast and mean. And if the weather is bad, they've got 3 backs, not 2 in at all times, and one of them (Duckett) is a pounder.

On the other hand, Philly has the type of D that can give Vick problems. But if Philly cant get a running game going, McNabb is gonna have Coleman, Kearny and crew hanging all over him all night as well.

I think weather and Michael Vick decide this game. If there's snow on the ground, Vick is neutralized. If it's just cold and very windy, but the ground is in good enough shape to let Vick make his cuts, I wouldn't want to be the defense that has to try to stop him when he's close enough to smell a superbowl.

Gotta side with the natural elements people :)

when games are to be played in a dome, instead of wasting our time and playing the whole game, they should just lineup both theams, have them run a 40, and whoever has the best average time wins the game.
