We have been neglecting our "Pearls/ Morons" section , I reckon.

So how about I keep this thread "permapinned" , and everytime a member "pearls" a post , if he could cut and paste it in this thread for posterity and potentially award prizes for the best ones?

Hmmmm wheres the page of the old "Top 10" to start it.

"Numbers I trust - People I don't!" - Webfather

i swear i was about to make a thread about this maybe a week ago ;)

i've transformed it into this "People lie, numbers don't."

of course you have to make sure the #s are audited correctly.

Wasn't the old ScottPB line about one good webmaster in that list once before ??

Anyway, Vick's post of a few weeks before Xmas, where I first heard the term coined "webhamster" deserves something. Never a truer word spoken - in jest or otherwise.

Oh, and the success quote from Mike A1? Crediting that to him is called breach of copyright - it's been on desk calendars since Noah was a boy.

And Gonzo lording over the crowd at the Excalibur Krispy Kreme saying "Let them eat donuts" deserves an honorable mention even though it wasn't posted.

Yep, my thoughts exactly.

Most of Scott's staff in the old days were ALL numbers and not names.

#7 and #11 still answer to that more likely than their names, in fact I knew #11 for a year before I actually found out his name.

He was not a big fan in the early days of anyone knowing anything or anybody - they were not even allowed to call themselves anything but their number - hence the number scheme.

He had some *brilliant* management strategies way back when.
