Ladies and Gentlemen, I would be most grateful if you would please cast your eyes over this page .. http://www.xxxamigoz.com/ads2/ and give me your impressions.

Mobile themes for 3g phones are starting to appear more frequently now.

Most will allow quite a comprehensive makeover to the existing themes, changing icons / colours / backgrounds etc, and some not very much due to the phone limitations. All will allow for a background graphic change.

Are they perfect for your program and offerings or a complete waste of time? I would appreciate your thoughts.

I am not posting this on any other board, just here ...

This "new thing" interests me greatly too.

I've chatted with Newton about it and it fascinates me.

Been telling some of my friends about it and they range from "cool" , to" whats the point of it all"

I think initially sell it as a cool gizmo so all the flash lil gfyers who have compatable phones can have a pic of a chick with hug3 breasts bouncing on there phones so their friends say "cool" and then move into real uses for it.

I think the uses are limitless.

One of the first steps to a total media centre on uyr wrist, hip wherever.

Sykk you may well need to come up here soon on this and other matters.

Be prepared to do presentations :)

So what do you guys think of wap and the new generation of rich multimedia on cellphone. we are looking as designing company to expand in that area.

It is pretty new and not all people have phones that can handle it. But then again we need to fast as more people will move in the direction, right.

Thanks Nick ;), I think of this place as my new home, and I want to be working with you in these exciting times ahead. You are aware of some of the items currently out there, and what is happening, and I think the items we discussed are awesome.

There are legitimate uses now with live streaming, horse racing, gambling and beyond throughout Europe, Australia and Asia, and it will hit the US with a vengence.

The sheer level of business intelligence and vision on this board is simply phenominal, and for once, I have found a place that is purely business orientated and I thank you.

yes my offshore sportsbook offers wireless wagering already.

The windows media smartphones are cool because you can wirelessly stream any online content to your phone. It uses WM9.. the coolest use that i was able to get out of this was streaming a live baseball game from mlb.tv to my wm9 player on my cell phone... it was choppy, but that was the network.. with the new generation of edge networks, and the more bandwidth that comes with it, the choppyness and limits should decrease

mobile content/services is a huge growth area...
things that are commonplace in Asia are in the very beginning stages here in the States

Even with some of the big players getting into the forray, there is plenty of room for innovators, creative types and niche guys.

Anyone interested in some of the things we just got some major seed capital for and are interested in finding out more, I'll have materials and NDA's available during the show ;-)

I'm wrapping up some show related stuff, then we'll continue the discussion and see about progressing further.

I can't wait to start doing some work with your company.

It would depend upon the phone and the level of theme depth. There are numerous phones out there, and some makes/models only have limited changes able to be performed on the phones, with some only allowing background changes.

The 3rd generation of mobiles are editable right down to the change of icons, ringtones and messaging alerts.

You are more than welcome to hit me up on icq and we can talk further.

Thanks Newton... but you just made it sound far too complicated I'm afraid. :(

Didn't realise every phone needed its own file... Was thinking about being able to order a set of 2 or 3 files, like your examples, that would cover the vast majority of Color screen handsets... to give away as a branding exersise.

Apologies for not being around earlier, I am in the middle of machine upgrades and installs ;(

It depends on the phones, some people still have their phones without picture messaging and cameras, the old style of phones. The newer ones typically use a symbian OS which allow sis files. Very much the same as operating systems on computers, windows/mac/linux. The typical ones are symbian, microsoft os, sony and motorola and all are feasible.

You are still welcome to contact me as is everyone else regarding this, the themes will be created for a lot of companies and sites, both adult and mainstream from themes3g.com when we launch.

Thanks Newton,

For everyones benefit as much as mine could you try and answer a bit more here on the forum please?

Approximately how many files would need to made, and apporximately how much would it cost me to have you hand me a finished product like your example of the Oprano theme?

Say these guys loved your Oprano theme example... and wanted to offer it to members? Would it cost a lot of money and would it be a lot of hassle dealing with lots of file variants to cover most handsets being sold as new in the shops today?

Sorry for the delay, I am still being ravaged by setting up these pc's, anyone have a hammer? ;)

Opti, I will provide as much information as I can without losing the business advantage.

The Oprano symbian one was made for free, as this is a forum i admire, due to its professionalism and business minded thinking. The people who frequent this board are free to use the theme, as they see fit, and it is free to download without restrictions.

The bottom most theme on the http://www.xxxamigoz.com/ads2/ page was created specifically for Nickatilynx as his phone only allows for the change of colours, backgrounds and screensavers.

You could have 4 distinct types made, one for the microsoft os, one for symbian os, one for motorola and one for sony, all with the branding of your choice. These would be downloaded from the site of your choice, with installation instructions for each, ready to be pushed to the phone via the usb cable (or ir) that came with the phone purchase. These 4 should cover a lot of end users phones out there.

The newer phones such as 3g phones currently being pushed in the shops, do have the ability to have everything changed on them, from custom icons and backgrounds etc and depending upon the complexity of the theme, would depend the price.

It would not cost a lot of money to produce these for your members, typically a fee of $xx for each type of theme created would be required, along with any content or images you require to be included.

Not a chance lol it is not just opranauts who frequent here, but a lot of driveby guests ... I am not giving away any strategic planning or business ideas that will come to the fore, until they are launched. Anyone from Oprano is welcome to hit me up on icq, to discuss potential ideas further, but that is far as it goes for the moment.

oh, there've already been a few nuggets dropped and might be a few more to come...

I've spoken with CJ, Newton and even the folks from mediaplazza as well as a couple reps from cellstar and we have a lot of the same ideas, ambitions and visions...so there are bound to be a few nuggets dropped everywhere

and I'm far from an expert...I still can't even program my own cell phone's address book, but I've written my first textmessaging autoresponder....I'm sticking to being a marketing and sales guy and letting my tech contacts handle the stuff I'm too stupid to be allowed around....a few of them might pop on over too, who knows...
