We were going to do that this year - come in early and hit the strip on New Years. Wish we would have planned better.

Anyhoo - our family tradition is to hit the movie theater and catch up on all the holiday flicks we missed while we were busy enjoying the holidays. Our local theater does $3/movies all day today so we'll be sitting in on about 3-4.

God help us - the kids want to see Fat Albert. Save me! lol

New Year's Eve in Vegas is amazing...we know it's going to be chaotic and a pain in the ass, but it's also a lot of fun. There's also some rain in the forecast and some wind, so the chaos could be intensified...

my wife and I are going to finally go see Life Aquatic tomorrow evening, then Sunday I'm taking the kids to see A Series of Unfortunate Events

Dinner and a movie with CT. If he wasn't here, it would be dinner and a movie with someone else. Clubbing and/or doing the big NYE parties got boring about 8 years ago and even moreso living so far away from anything "big".

Plus I hate the idea of having to play bumper cars with the amateur drunks.

we're cheating
we're dropping our van off at Sam's Town and then taking the bus to the strip...no tricky parking or other bullshit associated with driving up to the strip....the bus is free tonight and if my wife decides to drink, we can grab a cab home and Sam's Town is close enough we can pick up the van in the morning without an issue

We are having our 5th annual NYE blow out in New Orleans.

We have a live band, catered food, open bar, spiderman moon jump for kids, and about 80 friends and family.

We also will have the largest private firework show in New Orleans!!

Just made a Barnes and Noble run, the Tivo's full, there's a stack of unopened DVDs laying around, so I'm not entirely sure how many of the options will occupy me this evening. This is the first year in a long time I haven't gone out on NYE, and while I was invited to what's sure to be a bang up party, I don't want to fight to get a cab across town and back, and there's no way in hell I'll take Peaches place on the bumper car circuit ;)

Just came back from Electra's (9pm) and already every looney tune is out there, on two legs (saw one on four legs!) and behind the wheel. And that's freaking 9pm! Makes me glad I decided to stay at home this evening. It really had been a tossup between a kick-ass deal at a local "drinking establishment" ($40 a person for five hours of top shelve liquor and all the food you can eat.) But after seeing the banshees out -- especially the four idiots playing chicken with cars.
