I'm an addict.

But I love it!

I started of course with NL hold 'em

Won the first multitable game I ever entered at Ladbrokes.com..won about 3500.00

I won a couple of others at different websites.

Then I read some books on it. Worse thing I ever did! ;-))

Now I play a few multi seat tourny's , a load of single seat tourny's , use the small profits from their to fund the multiseat.

But I'm playing 8 hours a day lol.

Every now and again I get a rush of blood to the head and go play money games and lose my ass. ;-))

I only play lowlimit (it is recreational)

Been learning Omaha hi/lo...but have found my first love....

& card Stud. Love it!

Well OK...The secret to poker is very very simple..

PATIENCE!

;-)))

How many here on oprano play regularly?

Worth rekindling some webmaster games here?

He never did anything....and was offensive to people who he was not fit to even talk too. :)

I see no reason why a group of like minded gentlemen and ladies could not gather socially for a game of cards.

I'll talk with Mike , but I know he is busier than a one legged man in an asskicking comp at the moment.

Shhhh.... Don't let everyone know... You can even in many single table tourneys get into 2nd or 3rd by just folding.... :awinky:

I play quite a bit.... not so much online anymore.

I found I prefer playing face-to-face, so I play a couple times a week in $$$ games... plan on playing a bit in Vegas next week! ;-)

Going to Tunica in a few weeks to play a tournament, so I have to practice up some... ;-)

firstly profuse apols to leedsfan for not getting with him yet , I'm turning into Howard Hughes.

Bar one Xmass shopping trip , and 2 dinners out with the wife and kids , I've become a total recluse.

hmm thinking about it , that aibn't good.

Because of my reclusivity I am waiting to hit the newly opened Casino here in Richmond which has live poker games.

The only live poker games I have played have been at home , and I doubt (unless I win a world series of poker bracelet) a casino will allow my taunting , singing and dancing during a game on there premises. ;-))

You'd be surprised at the talk and actions by people at a poker table!! Live poker is 10,000 times better than playijg online!!

Did someone mention POKER???? :yowsa:

I am an admitted addict myself! Even have that hand held hold'em game we have all seen the spams from. I'll be playing that all the way to Vegas on the plane...

Nick we definately need to get some tourneys going for webmasters again, when we had a slot on APT our members loved it!

Proper prizes.

(Ones that actually get paid)

I like it.

I play ALL the time on Party Poker. I've definitely supplemented my income this year. I usually only play the single table tourneys.

Patience is definitely the key! Playing live is fun too but after the quick pace of online poker it seems painfully slow.

Nick, check out pokertracker.com, its pretty cool. twoplustwo.com has a great poker message board too.

We really need to get that heated up again , this time by someone who can really orgainise the shit.

Fuck I might even pay wages for someone (shudder)

Miss Eve...

Have you tried the 'ladders' out at PP yet? I've yet to find groove on the sit-n-go 3 table tourneys and usually stick with the 20-30 single table ones.

Nick...

Books can be helpful telling you the difference between betting styles in NL, PL and Limit games plus how those relate to tourney play... You are correct that patience is essential.

I have a friend who's finishing up the programming of a new poker software program...it can be skinned, setup for private and public tounreys, set up to play with tokens, etc.

I'll give him a bell and see how long until it's ready if you're interested. I've played the beta and it rocks.

I did try the ladders a few times but I think they are a waste of time unless you buy in at a middle level.

I pretty much stick to the $50 SNGs but go up to 100 or down to 30 depending on my run of luck ;)

My opinion is poker can probably be a big seasonal distraction for the webmasters much the same way the football pool is. I dont know if it'll play year round. There are the hardcore poker players who will do so, but you can actually get the masses in for a while at the right time of year.

And IMO the right time of year is coming. Right after Vegas with everyone jazzed from gambling, when football ends, but the weather outside is still nasty...

Make it a contest of some sort that last for several weeks with some sponsor provided prizes, etc.

Yeah, what hell Puppy said..

Also 8hrs/day and you lot making an income from it is enough to scare me off playing for too much money or too often.

But a game for playas that can/do earn an income from poker is probably more to Nickatilynx's taste.

I'm thinking like $50 buy ins top...

Have free tournys , sponsored with prizes like content etc.

Have say an intercompany league...

So teams play each other..

ie Team Oprano vs Team Netpond
Maxcash vs Cybererotica
