View Full Version : A pornographer is a pornographer

Just got really annoyed at a political chat forum where I often have to listen how moral one party is and how they don't embrace evil pornographers like Larry Flynt or would never support adult businesses like strip clubs and porn shops and here was my reply.
================================

Here's a big example of the difference between "us" on, say, the porn issue. I don't go screaming around and lecturing everybody about the "evils of porn" and how it should be gotten rid of and then wholly embrace the money companies send to my politicns that derives from porn on a much larger scale than the people you folks scream about. I have no problems with people setting "lofty goals" and not attaining them. I do have a problem with people that CLAIM they have attained them while being a total hypocrit on the issues as so many here, and in your party, do by giving a wink and a nudge to issues like these and claiming that the dems are all evil because a man like Larry Flynt has donated to the party but HAPPILY look the other way to the massive amounts of porn money being funneled to your party because it's a "respected" corporation. Where's the outcry to get rid of any donations from those corporations because they deal in "smut" that "ruins" the public. No matter how you slice it your party caters to pornographers. Just because they wear suits and ties and have board meeting and try and keep under the radar doesn't mean they still aren't pornographers. Total and complete hypocrisy

I think it should be pointed out that 95% of the people in this business are NOT pornographers, they are internet operatives, geeks and/or marketers.

That 95% would not have the first idea when it comes to producing content - most wouldn't be able to hold the camera straight. They would be clueless as where to start.

Advertise and recruit some talent, learn some production values (no matter how amateur), make some movies, shoot some pics, edit and package them for sale, sell them, set up some sites and market them and then call yourself a full-service pornographer.

Calling the 95% pornographers is like calling every news store owner a pornographer because they may sell Playboy.

Selling it and making it are 2 VERY different things.

My 2c.

I think publishers and distributors can be classified as pornographers as well.

Ti,

Hmmmm. Good point in hindsight and I may eat some words from above.

You realize that means the biggest pornography organization in the world therefore is Rupert Murdoch's News Limited, which owns production and/or distribution rights to 40-something percent of the "girly-mag" type publications (soft and hardcore) worldwide.

That market was $8.1 billion in 2002, while net porn was in the order of 4+ change. DVD's/Movies/Cable/PPV in-home was 5-something billion.

Or so said the Gartner group.

I suppose it makes sense that it is difficult to take your laptop into the can for a quick slap and tickle ;-)

They are the same people we oft quote when we say "80% of the people on the net at any given time are either looking at porn or looking for porn".

Well respected in traditional circles.

Sounds even better coming from a 6'2", 250lb, bald straight guy, let me tell you....

Average dickhead: "Ah wow man, you make porn?"

CTB: "yeah dude"

Dickhead: "Have you got a job for me man?"

CTB: "Sure have, but like any career you have to start at the bottom and there is a lot of dicks to be sucked before you can start on the fun stuff, when can you start ?".

End of conversation.

I'm firstly and foremostly a business man.

I make the najority of my money from Non adult related businesses.

From 1997 - 2003 I was with an out and out pornographer.

I hope to return to being a pornographer big time in 2005.

Good description Nick.

I often say to people that I am just a businessman who makes and sells sex, it's another widget, just more popular than most.
