not really, but I stopped relying on exit consoles long ago ...

ya can't build your business on a technicality that was long ago 'cured' ... popup blockers have been steadily decreasing exit traffic for 18 months.

It would suck to be running a PPS program currently where profit margins relied on exit consoles :biglaugh:

I wonder if there is still anyone left that stupid

most of our webmasters are sending to console-free, so it's not really affecting us

Popups triggered by a user-click are not blocked by the SP2 popup blocker and most others.

fyi...

Much thanks Dr

anything anyone else can add?

I've been reading a lot about the new SP2 (and haven't installed it)
But most of the stuff I've been reading is either MS or Pro-MS stuff

What's a console?

I've used browsers with popup blockers for years now.

IE is dying anyway.

Can you please tell about what % of pops get through your blockers?

I know a very, very small % got through a blocker I used for awhile

I use Safari and zero get through its popup blocker.

MaxCash's sites come up as a blank page with only the page's background color showing if I have popup blocker turned on but that is the only issue that I know of.

Unlike Mozilla’s popup blocker, which also seems to work all the time, Safari doesn't block windows that are suppose to open a new window when you click on a link.

Tabs have also very much changed the way I surf.

If you think those numbers reflect in any way your clientele, you are severely mistaken.

Designing to be compatible with every broswer is always a good idea.

But IE is still over 80% of porn sufers today, and I dont predict this changing AT ALL as long as windows is the number one OS and come with IE built-in. If anything, it could get more of a market share.

I've got SP2 installed on my computer, and I have to say there are alot of things I dont like about it, especially when it comes to websites and website design.

The main thing is the advanced security settings it enables in internet explorer. Now, alot (if not most) websites with flash, embed their flash into the site using the 'object' tags. However, if you have installed SP2, and you reach a site with such tags, the flash will display as a broken image and a yellow bar will appear at the top asking you if you are sure if you want to view this questionable content. If you click on that bar, it then brings up a prompt telling you exactly how dangerous it could be if you choose to view this content, and are you really sure you want to do it.

When you finally hit yes, it displays the flash.

The same thing goes for alot of dhtml, and pretty much any and all active X or sloppy javascript.

This is just what I have found after browsing with it for a few days, but if this is the case, as a flash designer, I find it highly disturbing.

And on a side note, as for the popup blocker, its extremely basic, but it does the job.
