Taking a chinese chick to a chinese restaurant?

This girl has only been in the states 2 months and says she doesnt "rearry ike amarkin' foo'" would she be pissed if I take her to some local sushi joint, and not be creative and get her to try something new?

If I take her somewhere like itallian though, it'll be really filling, and we are going dancing afterwards plus I want her to not be too full so the alcohol makes an impact.


If she doesn't like american...it's basically chinese/thai or like itallian/greek but who knows if she'll like any of that.

I just don't want her to be pissed that I took her out for sushi instead of forcing some new cuisine on her. What's a boy to do?

2) Chinese food in America isn't the same as Chinese food in China

This place is also not all that fancy...I like to take my dates to fancier places but alas, I dunno if she'd dig like french stuff or, like my favorite, the expensive steakhouse kinda place which she's sure to hate.

So if we do sushi, it'll be close to the clubs and not too filling but I'll lose some impress-value.

Man, where to start.

Sushi is a japanese thing, not a chinese thing. Chinese people tend to HATE japanese people in general... so that might not work out for you.

Also, is she from Hong Kong or mainland china? Again, a very big difference in food and language. I run into this all the time, as my current girlfriend is from the mainland, and most of my other chiense friends are from HK. It is totally different types of food, cooking, ingredients, etc.

Beyond that, american style chinese food is nothing like what they would eat in China, nor is it HOW they would eat it.

Ask HER for a good place to go, and she will be very happy with you. What they consider a "good place" and what we think of as a good place is totally different.

If you are in doubt, just send her up to me... I am sure we can work everything out. :-)
