Once I get comfortable with it I'm thinking of upside down from a burning rope :zoinks:

Well, if we don't see you post for a couple days, we'll know your escape attempt was unsuccessful......

Where did you get a straight jacket from? Id imagine its not the kind of thing you could just pop down to your local convenience store and pick up.

He he he Bishop

No upside down underwater bits for me, but I am serious about the upside down burning rope,
don't know if I'll ever be able to do it but it would be a good bit, lots of suspense

There are a few places that sell strait jackets

Slav, now thats confidence!!!! Unless you are planning on asking someone to undo the buckles?!?! LOL

Vick, I think we need webcam ... I want to watch this for sure.

Ya know what would make a great SEO type site? A blog of your progress on doing the 'final goal' ie the burning rope. You could blog your progress almost like a fitness diary ... its a perfect subject for building a community website around, and the plus is its your personal passion.

If you really want to hang from a burning rope and remove a straight jacket while doing it, you will. You know what you have to do to practice ... don't say you are going to 'try' - that sets you up to accept failure, you are going to 'do'. :okthumb:

Have you given any thought to how much that would freaking hurt if you fell? haha.. So is their a trick to the straight jacket or is it just skill and practice?

Should make for quite the fashion statement at the next Internext

Needs an Oprano logo on it. :P

Thanks for all the comments

I'm all about fashion he he he
Maybe the next one will have an Oprano logo on it

Given the burning rope bit more thought, have to find thick rope and measure how long it will support my weight (which I don't think will be a precise science, it may be a few seconds different every time). Then I have to be able to get out of the jacket in less than

also have to decide if I want to do it hanging by my feet or have a harness to hang upside down from - either way it's something else I have to get out of
Then I have to get or build a pulley system to be hoisted up by

and yes it would hurt like hell if I didn't make it out in time, no way to block the impact of the fall - that's the thrill of it for myself and spectators

Hmmm never thought about a blog, I'll be doing my first performances escaping from it this weekend (from a standing position)
So many magicians/illusionist/escape artists are catty

Vick,

I know where you can get a butt plug attachment to hold that in place... Only used once or twice...

Would LOVE to see ya perform, any chance getting someone to shoot some footage?

Vick
08-25-2004, 06:46 PM
Mmmm a used butt plug
Did you buy it at a garage sale?

Thanks, been thinking of shooting some footage
Maybe I'll actually get around to it

Got getting out of the jacket down to under 2 minutes (Yippie!)

Want to add something to it to keep the audience captivated,
that's why I'm thinking of the burning rope (plus I've never seen anyone do that)

Can have fun getting into the jacket
(swinging the crotch strap so the volunteer belting me in doesn't have to reach between my legs
Scream "Tighter, Tighter" in a high pitched voice as the crotch strap get buckled in
Tell the audience "I will now try to top my own personal best time for escaping from the jacket
4 Days, 12 hours, 25 minutes and 29 seconds)
