Unless you have automatic updates set, here is the link to the latest windows XP service pack upgrade.

There are some useful things in there, not sure how useful they will be to long term computer users, but a few things i think are good.

It puts your windows firewall settings to 'on' by default, which is a GOOD thing, having it off is just asking for it for newbies. It puts a popup blocker in internet explorer. It has advanced security settings, updating your virus scanner automatically and triple checking if you 'really' want to download a file.

It seems to be all about security in this upgrade, apart from size and time theres not much of a reason NOT to upgrade to it. Here is a helpful review over at win super site: http://www.winsupersite.com/reviews/windowsxp_sp2.asp

Im a big fan of anything that increases security settings, as for the first time ever I managed to score a virus which infected my MASTER BOOT RECORD on my harddrive, which has lead to all manner of pain and hurt over the last week. Its just one of lifes little reminders that I need to always backup my data weekly.
