23 - 18 in the Tri-Nations Rugby Union.

Game just finished.

Kiwis couldn't score a try.

Any game of football is a good game when New Zealand lose.

I dunno Yug, it was dark and the contrast on the TV in my office sucks..

I didn't see him.

Note to non Australians and non-rugby fans. Wendell Sailor is an ex-rugby league player who switched to Rugby Union. Wendell is OVERRATED, Wendell is OVERPAID and Wendell is BLACK. And YES, the above was a joke.

I'm surprised he even got to play 8 minutes. He's bloody useless. Although he did make an important grab towards the end of the match. So much hype about him and he just turned out to be a big let down. He should go back to league. Rathbone is so much better than Sailor. Tuquiri is what everyone thought Wendell would be. Now there's a successful transition.

Good result though. Now the boks are in with a chance to take out the tri nations, especially considering how good their super 12 season was and how well they've been playing in their last 4 or 5 internationals. South Africa have a very real chance of winning their last 2 games. I don't think Australia have much of a chance of beating them at home. New Zealand are the only team that can stop them in my opinion, but i doubt even they can do it in South Africa.

Lisa,

Calling Wendell Sailor a wanker does discredit to the word "wanker"

I have had the unfortunate displeasure of being in the man's company on a number of occasions in years gone by.

Fucking Idiotic Cocksmoking Moronic Turdburger, is probably the closest description I can come up with this minute that even gets CLOSE to being apt.

And the last time we sat a table together I told the cunt so to his face.

He ain't that tough.

Its a great atmosphere when your watching the game at a pub on the big screen or something ... when wendell came on, everyone did the whole 'wendells a wanker! CLAP CLAP ... CLAP CLAP' ... great for team spirit and uniting the masses :biglaugh:

What's really scary is that Daniel is almost like ToyBoy would have been at that age, only *less* of a smart ass & backchatter  Lets hope he grows up, not down :biglaugh:

Wendell was useless in league as well - but he was really good at the sideways crab walk - when he was supposed to be bloody running!!!!

Watching *bits* of that game reminded me why I hate football - but i love scrums :agrin:

Haha, reminds me of one of the times i was at Ballymore when Ireland and Australia were playing. I was up on the hill (where every real rugby fan is; where the booze is!) and there was this one guy who obviously didn't approve of Nathan Spooner's selection. Every time Spooner would get the ball, you'd hear this guy screaming...

"Oi Spooner, ya FUCKWIT!"

Spooner actually looked over a few times, so it was pretty clear that he was hearing the guy's heckling. Later in the game, one of the australians knocked it on, and the guy called out...

"Oi spoony, even though you weren't there, that was your fault, ya fuckwit!"

The whole hill just cracked up with laughter. Drunken Irish and Australian folks. What a beautiful combination.

I'm pretty sure nathan (?) spooner went to my school - 2 years ahead of me, in the same grade/team as my ex

He played league then though as we didn't have a very good union team ...

He was a hottie - at least he has that over that fuckhead jason akamenis from aerial ping pong, whose company I had the pleasure of in both primary AND highschool!!

I wish we had a 10 year reunion this year but nothing seems to be planned - a couple of pro footballers from each code, a handful of pornographers, a prissy popstars finalist and a teacher who was sent to jail for playing the wrong kind of games with kids.

Now THAT would be an entertaining reunion :biglaugh:

Dude,

That was some of the funniest shit I have **ever** read. Took ages for the tears to stop flowing.

The visualisation in my head was sensational!

Thanks :biglaugh:

Reminds me of 2 similar instances (though not nearly as funny)....

#1 Wests vs Valleys, Brisbane Rugby League Semi-Final when I was like 12, up on the hill at Lang Park with my older brother (see Lisa - 12 is old enough for the hill !!!)... some lark disagreed with a refereeing decision and yelled:
"Hey Ref, you've only got one eye, and it's brown".

#2 Broncos vs Cronulla, NRL again at Lang pak in pre Super League days. Everytime Andrew Ettingshausen (ET) got the ball and was about to be tackled this group of about 10 guys would scream:
"Not the face! Not the face!"

ED NOTE: ET was an infamously good looking guy who did shit loads of modelling and stuff outside of his football career.

Actually CJ, and it probably comes as no surprise, I am actually reasonably good mates with Jason :P

We get on probably because many people we meet think we are assholes, and neither of us actually give a toss.

But I can imagine in School he would have been a right pain in the ass.

Come to think of it, so was I.

I would organize that reunion yourself if I was you.

But wait until the teacher is parolled, hope and pray that one of the kids he fiddled is one of the pro footy players, get the popstar to sing and heckle them and see if you can get a standing ovation in abstentia like ScottPB got at his.

Whether you like them or hate them you should ALWAYS respect those who "walk the talk".....

And most people do NOT cope well with people who speak their mind and are prepared to back it up.

Like I said, no wonder we get on so well.

There is no final to the tri-nations. It's a simple ladder competition. Each team plays 4 matches. Team with the most points wins. South Africa are still well in contention. They only have 2 points (bonus points for finishing within 7 points in each game). Australia and New Zealand both have 9 points.

You get 4 points for a win. So basically, if they can beat both Australia and New Zealand (no sure thing, but i wouldn't put my money against the boks at home) and finish more than 7 points ahead in each game, they will win. If they finish ahead by more than 7 points in at least one of the games, it will come down to points difference between whichever team finished within 7 points in their match. If a team does finish within 7 points though, and South Africa manage to score 4 tries in the match, they'll win.

It's going to be very close and very exciting.

Anyone watch the Boks and the All Blacks? Good stuff. Game was a lot closer than the score would have you believe. Although, it would have been 50 points to South Africa if Montgomery was in the form he was in about a month ago.

40-26.

South Africa is going to take out the tri-nations. No doubt about it.
