That's what me and my """girlfriend""" are now...sex companions who care about each other, and thats fine, but I still thought I'd ask those older and more experienced than me.....
What happened to those kinda relationships? Should you have pushed harder for a serious relationship even though you didnt really think you wanted it, or didn't think the other person wanted it?
Can this work? I've had some kinda similar experiences that DIDN'T work, but they weren't really my "girlfriends" to begin with, more like I fucked them and tried to remain fuckbuddies....
What says you? Any of the previously described relationships ever work...and for how long? Do tell.
it depends, what's your definition of it 'working'?
In my experience they don't, because 1 party always wants more than the other.
Make sure you communicate well, know what you both *really* want out of the relationship and try to respect the other persons feelings ...
Unfortunately, you'll have to figure this one out yourself - only you know what's going to make you happy!

Oh man.. I had a bunch of "fuck buddies" when I was younger and I have no clue what happened to any of them. There was this one lady I was fuck buddies withwhen I was like 22 or so and she was like 26 or 27 and going through a divorce and I would stop by her apartment in the middle of night after bar time loaded off my ass and ready to have sex. Well one time when I was particularly loaded I stopped by and knocked on the door and as soon as she opened the door I literally walked in and started kissing her and looked over and saw some guy sitting there looking at us like "Who the fuck is this asshole?" Being really drunk and atthat point not caring much what happened cause I had already screwed her night up was rather forthcoming with who i was when he asked just that!!

BTW- CJ is right. It's a different scenario with ex-girlfirends cause there is hiostory there. Tread lightly and make sure you know exactly where everything stands. Easier to just have a regular fuck buddy/buddies without the baggage.

IME, old boyfriends are the best fuck buddies! The "comfort factor" is there, they already know what you like/don't like, what you look like naked, all your faults and you already know it's not going to work as far as a relationship is concerned. :okthumb:
I have a fantastic relationship with the Galleria mall up the street from me.

Enjoy the fuck buddy experience, but be prepaired to get away fast because many young girls do not know what they want at that age, and can see it for more then what it is. The relationship will probably not work out - but enjoy the sex while you can!

Once you get to the level of "fuck buddy", there is very little chance of ever going back to "full out love". You are both providing the other person with physical and emotional nourishment until the next good thing comes along. Even after that next good thing comes along, you might still be the "secret fuck buddy", although that is a harder job.
I often think that this is a stage in a relationship when both people have realised that they won't spend their lives together, but they still care and still want an intimate relationship, but one with no further destinations. You have arrived at "sex", and you are not going towards "married" ever.
Enjoy it while you can get it, don't invest too much of yourself in the relationship, knowing that there is little future, just as much of the present as you can handle.

It is a matter of maturity, honest understanding, and RESPECT. I can't imangine a long term relationship without mutual respect. Just like marriage, it can grow and get better - or you can grow apart. Don't push it - just relax, enjoy it & see where it goes............. it might surprise you.
(This advise is usually easier for men than for women..... women are usually less patient and romantics at heart:-)

Quite true, but the same thing can be said for the boys at that age.
Steve, isn't this the girl you were all bummed out over when she announced she just wanted to be friends/needed some space/what-ever? It can work, just make sure that YOU are really ready to do that with somebody you are serious about.

hmm yea that's a good point too.
I've never really done this with an ex girlfriend so maybe it could work better than previous fuck buddies.

I figure, eventually, it'll come to an end but if I'm still having sex with her, it's a good thing.
I'll try to enjoy thanks!

Yea that's her.
I don't think I need to be "in love" with her, kinda why I liked our relationship in the first place, neither of us were "dating to get married". I'm pretty sure I won't ask her to be my "official girlfriend" again, but if she asks me to be her "official boyfriend" again, I'm not sure what I'd say.

Here's a story you probably DON'T want to hear, but I married mine. lol It will be 17 years next month...
I was engaged to someone else who was out of town...
He was "hopelessly in love" with the one that got away that he thought would come back...
We were friends who got close, became "convenience dates" for parties and social events, eventually agreed to the "fuck buddy" terms and within 3 months we both blurted out our feelings for each other. Honestly it hit us both between the eyes from left field - neither one of us had planned on that happening.
And like I said... 17 years, 2 kids, a dog and 2 mortgages later... we're still happy. Ask anyone who knows us - we were VERY lucky! :rokk:

That's cool. None of my fuck buddies from when I was younger were even close to being serious girlfriend, let alone marriage, material.
Wow Kath, you are definately the exception to the rule!!! Awesome story :okthumb:

At that age, what you're really getting is "let's continue to have sex til one of us finds someone".
That's different from buddy sex.
