time to tally it up

is that because
1) your porn income dropped
2) your non porn income have risen?

It is still over 50% for me as well. Even with the growth of PureCash, it is still going down every year. I am fortunate to have made some nice investments that are paying off very well.

For me at least, it used to be that non-porn was fairly insignificant in the grand scheme of things and merely there for diversification. It was funded by porn which was high growth and high return.

Porn is still the larger contributor, but the growth is a lot easier for non-porn although still nothing like the boom we saw with porn from 97-99. Meanwhile you have to work 10 times as hard as you used to just to maintain the porn income at the it's current level. To get any significant growth requires major time and money investment.

Now that's not to say porn is a dead business, far from it. However, the days of making huge money with little work or skill and huge margins are gone. Those who can manage it like a business will survive and probably ultimately flourish. Those who were here because they're basically unqualified to do much of anything else in the world, and those who got used to hellacious margins and failed to adjust will likely fail.

The shake out period we're in now is going to be toughest because you've got so many people scamming their ass off to try to get that last dollar of the easy money. Plus some of the big players are bound and determined to go out in a blaze of glory and see how much cash they can grab via any means possible before the music stops for them.

Porn has never been the significant source of income for me yet.
The good news is though I keep steadily increasing.

It depends what is considered porn ....

I like the area in between porn and mainstream ... NAUGHTY

I'm not trying to get out of porn, I'm just trying to use the same skills to produce a higher quality product that can (has and will) be publicized in mainstream media, where the REAL traffic is.

Its the best of both worlds ... mainstream traffic and adult conversions ...

115% porn. Well the sex industry anyway.

That includes the 15% on my investments across the board.

And before you hit "REPLY" Serge (or others) - YES, conservative investing these days, I have a family to consider :-)

As our Curious Cash business is growing so is our ROI, our per member yield and profit and our cost/profit indicators.

We are expanding constantly in different areas, but the sex/adult industry is what we know and we do it well.

In chaos there lies opportunity

yeah cause nobody ever thought of that before I mentioned it

just like nobody ever thought of coming up with an 'alternative to credit cards' until someone said on a board 'oh my theres money in alternative processing and nobody else is doing it' - now look around at how many half assed billing solutions are available that think they are the answer to all of our billing problems. I can't tell you how many times I heard "We've got this great thing 'coming up' that we can't talk about but it will replace Visa." Blah blah blah

one thing i've learned about ideas is they don't mean dick ... a good idea implemented poorly will always lose to a bad idea implemented well.

If you need examples, look at Brad "little weasel" Tukhman Shaw's entire business model.

All of my income is of a non adult variety. Though that may change in the very near future.

I am thinking about trying to find a way to sell images I have shot, when I hike and stuff, to like a clip art place or something, I mean I take the pics anyway, even for my own hobby, and enjoyment so why not look for a place to sell them too, does anyone know of such a place? or know anyone doing such a thing?

There was a guy on PCBBS who was selling nature prints on Ebay. You could try there :) Or if your town has fairs or flea markets, those are popular places to sell also.

yes ...

the big stock agencies are hard to get to accept pics though - every tom dick and harry with a digital camera thinks his/her pics are publishing quality .... but they aren't. with your internet marketing skills, you'd be just as well off building your own stock cd's and selling them.

interesting numbers in the poll - it looks like almost everyone has diversified into something non adult that they either were doing before porn or a hobby they have done on the side ...

maybe its just because we've learned it doesn't matter how much money a career can make you if you don't enjoy what you are doing on a daily basis ...

I think great concept!!!!

If I may make a suggestion while you are building, www.nudebritishcelebs.com is converting well and we have exclusive content of many page 3 girls ... much less hassle than the A list celebs, so if you need filler to make it look like a 'bigger' site, I recommend using these - ie, glamour models, nude models, fhm girls etc. You are welcome to take the pics from the tour, just let me know when you are done so I can make note of it.

similar concept using 'Will these wannabe models ever make it in the real celeb world ...'

or ...

how many boyfriends will Jordan have by 2005
how many magazine covers will Jodie Marsh appear on my 2005

that kinda thing ...

also ... http://www.hunkycelebs.com/hollywood_hunks

How much money will Johnny Depp's next movie, The Libertine or Finding Neverland, make at the box office?

How many different suits will George Clooney wear in the upcoming Oceans 12?

We get a lot of onset pics from movies that are filmed in Europe ... so stuff about movies is going to match really well

Well.... mine is exactly 50/50 at this point, but I do have some other things "in the works" not-ready-for-prime-time yet that will hopefully catapult things to at least 75 (non-industry)/25 (industry-related) income.

Looking to build up that mainstream end of things again... I've forgotten my roots....

100% porn income for both my wife and I.
Oh and for the record, I am proud of that fact even with the 'challenges' that go along with this business. Not only do I think the on line porn industry serves a very useful purpose (for hardons with credit cards), I also think it is the best medium ever created for educating the masses and opening eyes and minds about the entire realm of human sexuality. I also think if it could be used properly it could exspose those who wish to stiffle other peoples sexual freedom (meaning consenting adults here) for being the bigots that they are.
so there :P

We've been making our income from porn for many years now full time... We are now diversifying a bit more, but the bulk always has been and probably will continue to be adult. I'd eventually like to go back to training horses, but at this point in time I'm too busy with kids and whatnot as well.
