Yep saw that on Yahoo this morning. If I had that kinda cash I'd have just about no worries.. Maybe someday.

...and I thought that Park Place (or whatever their name is) was going to end up owning Vegas..... they own about 6 Casinos now. They recently added the Convention Center Hilton as well as the Hilton Timeshare that is next door.

yep owning a casino someplace else, then selling it to a developer is probably a good speculation to get involved with :D

It's going to cause a lot of problems job-wise here though
if you work for say MGM and fuckup, it'll be hard to get a job nearly anywhere, same with Caesars....

A great move for both companies involved but not so good for local employment opportunities...I'm just glad I don't have to work in those godawful casinos anymore...

MGM and Mandalay getting together, now Harrah's and Park Place.

Not a lot of significant properties that one of those two doesn't own... Venetian and that's about it. Wynn's new property on the old Desert Inn grounds should also get some attention.

I see the monorail just opened this week as well....you can now ride all the way from MGM to the Sahara with several stops along the way.

Yeah, but if you fuckup early in your career, shouldn't you be allowed to rectify the fuckup?

I have a friend who got fucked over by a crooked supervisor at the MGM and was listed as a no-rehire and he can't fight it and it also cuts his employment options almost in half...(cooks tend to be a transient bunch)

It will also drive down the wages and even though the Culinary Union is trying to sound ok with it, I'm sure there are some levels of panic...

the only thing more publicly distorted than adult webmaster earnings are casino employee earnings...
